View Full Version : weight fluctuation

I'm in the middle of a diet. I've lost 10 pounds (went down from 150 to 140). At least 140 is the lowest that my scale has measured for my weight. Because sometimes my weight is 143 and stuff. Is it because 140 is my weight on an empty stomach and is 143 my wieght after I eat? Why does my weight keep fluctuating?

Are you weighing yourself at the exactly same time? And you really only need to do it once a week (am/naked is most accurate).

Only weigh yourself first thing after you wake up in the morning and naked. You can gain a few pounds during the day just from eating. And yeah...don't measure every day or it can be discouraging (water weight, stomach bulk, etc...)

Yeah I remember a while back my friend and me went to the gym got on the scale and went to burger king, came back, got weighed and we were 8 lbs heavyer! Then we worked out and we were the same weight as we were b4 we ate O_o
It's all relative dude..
In the morning, I can be up to 6 lbs lighter then evening..
Taking creatine, I'm 10 lbs heavier then normal.. and it takes about a week to lose that.
After a vist to the bathroom.. I can be up to 4 lbs lighter.. LOL
And after a good workout, I can be 6-7 lbs lighter.. include a sauna, and it's up to 11 lbs..
And can drink a gallon of water in 10 minutes afterward and gain 5 lbs..
BTW.. why did you diet down to 140 LBs??? Seems kinda of light?? Wrestling or something?
After all... this is Wanna Be BIG!!! 143 ain't too big.. LOL.. unless you are 4 ft tall? How tall are you?

I'm 5 foot 4.25 inches.

Sounds pretty normal to me - I'm 5'8" - currently at 210 (fat) - down from 265. I drop 4lbs of water doing an hour of cardio. I gain around 3-4lbs eating and drinking during the day (I drink a decent amount of water).
Generally, my pre-breakfast/post-bathroom weight is the most consistant measure for me.
Keep the faith,
I'm 5 foot 4.25 inches.
And you are 16 right??
Dude.. you don't even know if you are done growing yet....
I don't know why you are dieting.. what is your reason?
Unless it is for something competitive.. your height can easily support 140, 150 or more depending upon genetics.
I would never recommend a teenager to diet, especially more the 5% of BW.. unless they are overweight or are intelligently competing in a one-on-one sport like wrestling.
Just eat right and lift hard.. if you want your 6-pack to show or something, then just build some muscle under the skin you have.
