yup. I jus could never imagine doing 106 x 20 on raises. I bet the most i could get is like 50-60's x 1 or 2 lol

what national competition is he 3 months out from?
the national bad form event? the national pride-repping conference?
the national body-english-assisted competition?

Seriously, I know you said form wasn't strict and clearly you can't be weak to move 105 like that but that just ain't that impressive.

Form before weight. I'd rather look weak and have good form then look mighty strong and not fully benefit from the exercise.

Impressive.

That closely resembles the One Arm Swings we do in KBs.

considering the amount of weight he was using, i don't think there was too much english. pretty impressive. i don't think i know anyone who could do that for 20 reps.

Yeah, that was mostly a posterior chain exercise.

I think there are a lot of folks that could do that...
he really is swinging the heck out of that DB.. plus getting the leverage of the other arm on the benchchair.. plus keeping the momentum going. (English, French and Spanish altogether)

I would say he can do 40's strictly for 20 reps.. (still strong though)
I agree with Chubs... those are KB swings!

I do shoulders again on Friday.. I'll try 80s.. since I can do 27.5 - 30 lbs for 20 reps.. and see what I come up with. Of coarse, I won't tell anyone in the gym I'm doing shoulder raises.. lol.. but KB Swings.

Isn't a lateral raise when you raise the dumbell at your side? That's a front raise he's doing.

that's what i see. sure there is some body english, as there should be using that kind of weight. but i didn't notice anything too crazy. for you guys who aren't impressed: grab a 105 db and see if you can do that. i'll give him some credit, that's tough.

I haven't seen the video, but I can say from experience that sometimes power output is more important than form PROVIDED your form is not putting you in danger.

I agree, and he is putting the weight UP pretty well, he just has no control of it. Not that awesome, but he is strong.
