I work at a day camp and a person came in to do a work shop on jumping rope. I thought "sweet, 2 hours of her running the show. I can chill out now." Ha!
I was skipping for about 30 minutes non stop. After 5 min I was sweating. After 15 min my shirt was so wet it was a different colour. After the 30 min I thought I was going to die. Damn skipping is intense!!! When I get around to cutting (probably next summer), I will be doing HIIT with skipping. Apparently 10 minutes of skipping is equal, in terms of calories burnt, to 20-30 minutes of jogging. And it is a hell of a lot more fun!

I find it hilarious that people can make a living off giving skipping workshops.

When I saw the title of this thread another form of skipping came to mind. I was thinking of little kids skipping on the playground, or skipping rocks.

Actually, the title is "Physical Outreach Worker". They promote physical fitness to the City of Toronto and encourage physical activity. Two days a week the run either a skipping or volleyball clinic for kids.

It's good in principle, but then you realise they are the ones responsible for creating BS pamphalets and propegating myths to the public.
