View Full Version : Finally, the diet...

Well, I started working out about 4-5 months ago and i've seen awesome progress. But my diet, or lack there of, is horrible. So I've been reading up and plan on starting my diet on monday. Theres still some things that I'm unsure of, but here's what i've come up with so far.

Breakfast- any combination of 2 slices whole wheat bread with natty PB, egg whites, oatmeal, cereal.

Snack- Handful of nuts.

Lunch- Tuna, Chicken, or some other Meat.

Pre-workout Snack- Need help on this one, not sure what you should have before your workout

After workout- 2.5 scoops Whey protein mixed with water

Dinner- Tuna, Chicken, or other meat.

Before bed- Cottage cheese.

I dont really have too much variety because im still trying to figure out what to eat and what part of the day your supposed to eat it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Enter it in www.fitday.com and post the breakdown it gives you. That way we can see how much fat/protein and carbs you are getting.

diet needs fruits and veggies...bannanas are good before a workout.

get a jug of V8 juice...just an 8 oz glass of V8 juice = 2 servings of vegetables.

olive oil and fish oil would be good too.

don't forget to drink plenty of water.

so your supposed to have a good amount of carbs the meal before your workout right?

and im taking fish oil, but how do you go about getting the olive oil into your system...i really dont feel like doing shots of it like i've read on here before....and i also thought that you wanted to stay away from most fruits because of the sugar...

I'm 21 years old, 5'8", and 170lbs. I started working out about 4 months ago and I've seen awesome gains. I havent seen a big increase in size, but I'm alot stronger and starting to look a little more cut.

I was planning on cutting but Built told me that I should probably just do a slow, clean bulk since i dont have a good amount of muscle to cut down to yet...

Well I did a couple weeks of Fitday and it seemed like my maintenance calories were about 2500-2600. So im planning on keeping it right around there or maybe just a little higher. But like i said, i have a horrible diet. Horrible.

So i think changing my diet like this will give me some huge improvements and gains.

Yes, that is them. Protein is low. Fat is good. Carbs are fine if your trying to add some weight. I would just add another 50-60g or protein, and that should get your cals high enough to start adding some weight and support muscle growth.
