did some back today, I had not done dead lifts in 2 weeks since I had been doing really heavy SLDL's on tuesday, and come thursday my hammys were still wrecked, so I opted for rack pulls instead

seems like the time off did me good

did my warm ups, 135x6,225x6, then hopped into it

315x8, 375x8, 425x6, 460x3

then I was not really sure what I was going to do, so threw on 480 and did 2, both of which felt pretty good

the guy beside me was also doing deads, and really heavy too (ended up with 585x3), and I think he gave me inspiration, so I threw 500 on and banged out 1, nice good and slow, without a hitch

I was mega pumped!!! and still am

just thought I would share that :p

Congrats! It sounds like so much more when you say 1/4 ton instead of 500, doesn't it? I thought I was the only one who said that.

that they are....for a good while of doing squats regularly and not really getting anywhere, i just thought maybe I was not made for a heavy squat....then I just decided, its time to be a beast

for the past 4 months about i went from doing 225x6-8 to what I am now, prolly about 275x6-8, i also attribute my low squat to my form, i find it very tough to actually touch my ass to my heels, and come back up, but I do it, where as others, i have heard talk about doing ATH squats, then seeing vids of them not even getting to parallel

my deads have always been high, since I started about 2 years ago, i started at like 275 for reps, and have gone up from there, where others start at like 185, though I have not been very consistant with them

So did you rack pull or dead 500? The first post says you rack pulled 500, but you have 505 DL in your sig, usually i find that i can rack pull much more than i can dead.

Nice work either way bro.

Nice work either way bro.Indeed. I know I can rack pull from the knees about 50lbs more than I can dead. Even more if from slightly above the knees.

first post says i deadlifted 500, says i racked pulled the past 2 weeks until now

last week I rack pulled 515x2 on my 5th or 6th set, so yea I can do a bit more, ofcourse i rack pill from like 7 inches off the ground, so its not that much

Did you use chalk or straps or anything? Belt?

emjlr3

belt and straps

i usually jsut use chalk, but i did not feel liek having to worry about holding on, just about pulling

1/4 ton sounds like a lot eh? Me I bet I could pull 330 today, but my last max was 300, I attempted 310 and 305 but it just would not budge. GREAT LIFT. I hope to be able to pull 500 LBs

Think of that thats a bar 45 lbs and 5 plates on each side. plus a 2 1/2 LBer. I can`t wait till that day

And wolfy you bench 860? Thats somthing that a lot of poeple canīt do. Heck most serious lifters raw I donīt forseen getting past 500 on bench or even 400. I know I figure one day I could prob do a 6 plate bench about it.

500 is a nice respectable milestone. Grats!

Oh and lose the straps next time.

emjlr3

no straps :(

i actually have a problem with my right hand that doesnt not allow me to hold with my pointer and middle finger, which makes gripping things difficult

I broke both of them during football, and neither of them really work much anymore, and just holding on with my ring and pinkie finger don't do so well :(

but yes, respectable, and finally man weight, in my book, next goal, 525, ;)

A ton is 2000lbs, a metric ton (or tonne) is 2204.6lbs. Grats on the DL, huge pull.

I'm hoping to do a metric ton by the end of this year. That would be awesome.

emjlr3
07-31-2006, 12:42 PM
wow that would be sweet, rofl to do a metric ton, 1/4 of a metric ton is different, lol

550, not a bad goal, possibly reachable my the end of the year, though I think 525 would be more likely
