A close friend of mine is getting serious about his motorcross racing (and is quite good at it) and has asked for some advise with regards to a training prgramme.
just wondering if anyone has some suggestions for a weights programme for this sport.
it must have close to no arm strangthening as this gives the rider arm pump and doesnt allow for full control of the bike, so will involve mostly legs and core training.
any ideas??????

If it is leg and core training then Squats and Deadlifts

Just get him on a routine that incorporates the whole body just like anyone else would, including squats and deads.

Also, lots of grip work, arm pump is killer.

On a similar note, I have a race tomorrow! :D

Hockey66...thanks, do u think wbb workout #1 for example?? just take out the arm isolations exercises eg. curls??

I think WBB#1 would be perfect, no need to take anything out. Throw in some extra grip work and it'll be awesome.

I didn't end up racing because my girlfriend raced in the 125 class before me on her '06 YZ250F and ate it HARD. She tore the muscles in her back and got a concussion, along with knocking a vertebrae out of alignment.
