View Full Version : new at eating 5-6 times a day

Wow,
I am stuffed all the time eating 5-6 times a day as I just started this two days ago. Below is what I have had to today by the way:

7:00 a.m. whole grain cereal and skim milk
9:30 a.m. two packs instant oatmeal with whey protein mixed in
11:45 a.m. turkey on whole grain bread
1:30 p.m. 5 ounces salmon and 1/4 of a sweet potatoe
3:45 p.m. I plan on having just a whey shake
6:30 p.m. I plan on having 5 ounces salmon and small salad

I am not eating much when I eat but feel so stuffed all the time. Is this the way to go to loose weight as I am doing heavy lifting and want to loose some fat as I am 5'11 and 200 lbs but dont want to skimp on eating as I want to progess is my heavy lifting while increasing muscle tone and loosing fat. Any thoughts.

Your last meal is at 6:30pm. Unless you are going to bed at 7, you've got a few more hours in there to spread out your meals and decrease that stuffed feeling.

Well I go to bed at 10:00 p.m. so I can stretch it out a bit longer then but still I do feel very full all the time and am afraid I will end up gaining weight.

Figure out your maintenance calories. Simply put, to lose weight you must eat below your maintenance and to gain weight you must eat above it.

Also, I wouldn't plan on packing on serious muscle while trying to diet. Pick your goal, bulking or dieting, and stick with it, don't try to do both. Not saying it can't be done, just not likely to happen for most people.
