That picture is adorable. Is that 'the' menacing pink towel, the one that marks the territory? There has to be some sort of subconscious bio marker involved here - something that we shade tree zoologists have missed.
Awesome Q&A, very good info here.

Justlost - cool.
djreef - it is, in fact, THE pink towel. I was SPENT in that shot - I had just finished walking lunges out on the sidewalk in front of the gym.
CODmaster - I love it! :)

Did I ever mention that I used to have a crush on a girl named MariAnne? Things didn't work out though - she lived on some unchartered desert isle with a captain and his skinny male lover, a scientist, a movie star, and an alcoholic millionaire couple...
Great article btw.

Sensei - gee, I've NEVER heard THAT one before ...
If your quads weren't so magnificent, I would snub you.
Fortunately for you, I'm really, REALLY shallow.
Thanks for the props. ;)

What do you think of hempseed oil as an EFA?
There are a number of hemp farms in my area and it's reasonably easy to get access to hempseed oil at a reasonable price.

I usually don't reccomend hemp seed oil to clients who are in a position where they may have to be tested for drugs at their work place. I believe you can actually test positive if you are using hemp seed oil.

I've heard this Maki - not sure if it's true, but since hemp seed would provide the ALA form, you'd still run into the conversion problem, so there's at least one, and possible two, good reasons to stay away from it as far as I'm concerned.

Good point.
Do you take the same approach w/r/t bioavailability when selecting your multivitamins and other supplements?

Pretty much, yeah, although for the most part, I just eat good food. I feel it matters for some things: I supplement with calcium in the form of citrate, and natural source vitamin E. Creatine, I just stick with tried and true monohydrate …
I stick myself with B-12 because it's often not very well absorbed through the gut, but I get cheapy vitamin C because the more bioavailable ones aren't cost effective.
