Hey guys,
This is the first entry of another success story. I finally have the time and dedication before me to become the person I want to be.
I'm 23 years old, 6 feet tall and 165 lbs. For all of you visual readers, I will post some before pictures this weekend.

My first routine will be a mix of compound exercises in 3x5 fashion. In addition to working out, I will be increasing my calories daily.

For example, here is my first day.

Pendlay
3x5x85
Squat
3x5x135
Standing Military Press
3x5x95

Did another compound workout today...

Deadlift
3x5x155
Form felt loose, will do more reading on this before next time
Squat
3x5x135
Crackling knees, but muscles felt worked
Bench
3x5x185
Great exercise, but need a spotter for next week's increase
Chinup
3x5xBW
Now that I use less bicep, I can see how this is a great back exercise

170 lbs. on empty this morning. That's a 5 lb. increase in a week. I'm happy, but I know that the first week or two the gains are much easier than the following. I've been pounding back 2 shakes a day in addition to about 2000 calories. One thing I need to do is measure myself so I can scale differences in a second way. I'm a scientist, can't you tell?

good deal going with compound stuff! stick to it!

you're right about weight coming on fast in the first place. when i first began to lift a few years back, i got 120% into it and went from 165 to 180+ in just under two months, after that things slowed down a bit for me.

good luck, and i hope to see some nice progress out of you!

Es and Vita, thanks for stopping by!

Pendlay
3x5x115
Form feels odd, I don't feel enough upper back focus and can't find much on the net about this exercise. I might drop back down until I can do this right
Squat
3x5x135
Felt it in the glutes more than usual, I still feel way behind on this exercise. I am thinking about adding a hamstring exercise.
Standing Military Press
3x5x95
Heavy pressure on back - felt great
Dips
3x7xBW
Great feeling here in the chest - I'm thinking about moving it to the other routine
