Its fine to indulge every now and then just don't over do it.

They are called cheat days and cheat meals. They keep you sane, they keep your metabolism up.
A bowl of icecream once a week is not going to hinder your progress.

If you feel bad about it (since it's heavy carbs and fat) throw in a scoop of whey powder. Now it's high carbs and protein! :D

Done that before now.. nothing like coughing up dry powder...

There is a fine line when it comes to ice cream. I eat about 1 quart a week, generally all in one meal (Around 800 cals). It keeps me sane and I am still losing weight...

However, overindulging with ice cream CAN cause some major weight gain. I was able to go from 192ish to 207 in about 6 weeks. It felt good, but that is a lot of weight (fat) gain.

Anyway, I think eating ice cream is fine, but if you start losing control, it COULD be the end of you :D

Frozen yogurt/light ice cream can help a bit. One serving is only about 100 calories instead of 300 or so.

Put the powder in first and just enough water (or milk) to soften the powder. Then add the scoop of ice cream and roll it around in the 'chocolate sauce' that just happens to be 24 grams of protein instead of pure sugar.

Yeah.. i soon learnt after the first time (sprinkled it on top of the ice-cream.. many moons ago.. ;) )

Heh. I did that with a 'peanut butter and chocolate whey' sandwich. *chomp* *hack hack... hack... wheeze*

It's ok, I just had an awful cheat day yesterday.

10 Chicken mcdonalds nuggets
1 large fry
1 large rootbeer
8 Beers
3 Softshell Taco Bell Tacos
2 Packets of Chicken Ramen

That's a cheat day?

I had a 7 oz chicken breast parmigiana, a full side of spaghetti in meat sauce, a big french-bread style slice of garlic bread with cheese, a full plate caesar salad, and a slice of something called Cookies n Creme Cheesecake for lunch.

And I'm not even considering today a cheat day.

The 8 beer was a little excessive though, I admit.
