So I'm back to school, living in a new dorm. 15 minutes after moving in I found out that the place had a gym of its own. Now the place is pretty old itself, but the gym itself is hardcore to the bone. Posters from the 70's on the walls about local competitions and myster olympia. Rust on EVERYTHING. Harcore to the bone. And it's probobally gonna be empty for most of the time, only saw one person there so far.
Baddass to the bone:

As to why your pics are coming out so dark, try using a slower shutter speed, a larger aperture (preferrable), or try raising the ISO.

Rusty plates, yay! Rust bars? Not so hot. I assume it's just surface rust, but it certainly shows that there hasn't been any maintenance.

That sh!t looks pimp. Throw on some gloves and go at it, grunt loudly too... take advantage.

That's exactly what my gym looked like after Hurricane Dennis. Less than a mile from the beach and the power was off for almost a week, so everything in the gym accumulated a nice layer of rust.

NICE...any rust covered squat racks?

MeHoW
08-18-2006, 03:54 PM
The squat rack is covered with rust but no pics, my camera kinda sucks. And yeah there's barely any rust on the actual part of the bar that you can hold so its all good.

I would clean the bar up real well, having flakes of crap fall off in your eyes while benching is not fun.

this just in: rust does not make a gym hardcore.

Never seen a person use the expression "to the bone" so often in 2 sentances but hey, looking pretty good. I love a near empty gym so you can just chillax and finish off your routine without waiting etc.

That pic of Ghana is crazy.... the bodies on these fellas..unbelievable! Im seriously wondering how they get in enough essential proteins etc in their diet.

Dang.. now that is hardcore.. and look at their builds.. awesome.. and probably on a very poor diet.. I can't image them worry about how many grams of protein.. they are probably just glad they have a next meal.. Carbs, protein, fat... or whatever.

These pictures are inspirational!!

Make sure the rusty collars on those rusty bars rotate freely or you could injure yourself.

So, what do you call someone from Ghana, anyway... lol. a Ghanarian?

The guy on the leg press is about to learn a physics lesson I think.

That leg press machine outside looks real safe. My university has a start of the art rec center with the best equipment you can buy-everything you can imagine, and I actually just started lifting in the old gym that nobody uses anymore. Most people don't even know it's there and it's in the same building. Most of the bars are rust colored, so are the squat racks. I love it, it's 80 degrees in there. Cement floors, I've only seen someone else in there once. I feel like training so much harder in there than in the air-conditioned gym crowded with 50 ppl that aren't even lifting.

The amount of good food they eat is misunderstood, they also live on endless fish...They eat clean and high protein....that's the difference. I went to a gym in Jamaica and I was surprised at the physiques that I saw out there. After staying there 3 weeks I came back shredded too!

Powdered_Power

Yeah Guido, he has a hilarious looking body doesnt he? Also, check out the left calf on the guy sitting bottom left...that legpress isnt really doing the job me thinks!

It doesn't hurt that they have incredible genetics, along with those folks from Ghana.

What the hell dude? I mean, ok, a lot of white people have it good but that doesn't mean you stereotype the entire continent of Africa to be starvin' marvins. It's almost as bad as thinking the whole of Middle East's just a desert with a lot of caves.

Speaking of that, Ghana's actually an advanced African country.

It's not advanced, it's still an LDC. I don't agree with people thinking they should be happy just to get a meal, though.

Now I am starting to get it. A buddy is from Ghana and all he ever does is chest. Must run the the jeans.

And yeah they are not all starvin marvins. They eat just as much as you and me.
