Wow. You'd think the guy had just saved the world from imminent destruction or something!

LOL.

Evel Knievel could have done that... and he wouldn't have tarnished it by allowing some clown in a giant foam cowboy hat to get anywhere near him.

:)

(I'm assuming no one has ever done that before, and it is quite something.)

Yes don't get me wrong. It was pretty cool. But would have seemed cooler if he didn't act like a madman afterwards.

Travis Pastrana is a freak on the bike! I think he was the first to pull a single let alone a double. Those guys are crazy!

I wonder how many guys have died trying to do that. That was pretty sweet.

My co-worker is semi-pro motocross and knows Travis personally. He makes giant slip-n-slides down steep hills and goes flying down them. People get really hurt. He loves that stuff, according to my friend.

Carey Hart was the first to pull a single, Pastrana mastered the single and all it's variations and was the first to pull a double and a 360.

To Guido, he IS a madman, it's just the way Pastrana acts. He did a backflip while he was racing SX over the finish line jump, on a 4-stroke off a jump with no lip. That probably makes no sense to you but in dirtbike lingo it is VERY impressive.

He's a cool guy too, this is from recently afterwards.

No doubt he's a cool guy, and actually I am quite familiar with the lingo as an avid moto and auto buff.

I remember seeing him in his first X Games when he was like 14. That was really cool.

that was awesome!

as far as his reaction - what do you think he should do? start complaining about how he only did 2 flips an not 6? tell the crowd to shut up?..he just did a double backflip infront of a roaring crowd, of course hes gonna be pumped!

Have you ever heard the joke "Where does a 400 pound gorilla sleep?"
We're lucky to have one of the top PLers in the world posting here, and if he posts exclusively in the PL forum regardless of content, it's really not a problem...
