Is it ok to get most of the protein from shakes, I havent yet.. it just gets expensive and repetative to eat clean, and I know some days I wont be able to keep it up.

Yesterday my protein came from:

97% fat free cheese 30g (kraft singles, great source btw 100g contains 24g protein and 1.5 grams saturated fat)
Soy protein isolate 28g
subway roast chicken + ham 40g
Whey protein mix 28g
cooked egg white 30g

Today

Soy protein isolate 28g
Whey protein mix 28g
Sashimi + cooked tuna 40g
Whey protein mix 28g
400g Tbone 80g

I try to intake a minimum of 150g of protein a day, sometimes its difficult because I try to eat as clean as possible, I heard you cant get all your protein from shakes because your body gets used to it and it loses its effectiveness, but how much is too much? could I have even more protein drinks?

From what I have read, The protein drinks I am having are almost twice as better absorbed then chicken or beef.

I am not trying to sound like I want an easy way out, I just wanna know what % of protein I should be consuming from protein shakes.

i think its fine dude as long as you get some from food and as long as your protien blend is quality.

I've been eating a lot of canned tuna (water packed, NOT OIL). 30 gs of protein in one little can and virtually no fat. Just pop the lid and add mustard. I have one ON's whey protein shake a day (on training days right after my workout and on cardio days and my off day before bed).

Thanks for the replies, That guy is pretty impressive seeing as though hes a vegetarian. I will feel a lot better about having so many protein shakes in a day.

Blah why would you want to miss out on the fat. :/

I find tuna in oil even more disgusting than tuna alone (I like tuna sandwiches once in a while but I couldn't make it a staple). Water packed all the way.

While the subject of tuna is up, I was wonderin(for anyone who weighs food) does your tuna come to only about 3 ounces compared to the 5 it says it has?

Bumble Bees Chunk Light tuna in water.

Maybe its the light part? Not sure, but its the same for canned chicken, says there should be like 12 oz but theres only 7 when I weight it out.

And I noticed that even the can while I was draining it felt much lighter than the Starkist. Hmm..

The brand I get now is a lot harder to drain(dunno why) but it was the same with starkist as well. Id drain the tuna, then measure and it would come to around 3 ounces, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.
