This was a major bummer. I'm having trouble keeping my bench numbers up. I have lost some weight and when that happens my bench suffers. Still, I think I should of had this one but I just lost my drive right in the middle.

But seriously your a big guy and thats a ton of weight. You were so close to getting it... Good effort

It really looked like that was going up-I bet you'd have 420-430. A girl doing bb rows, I see you train at a REAL gym.

BUTT seriously.. the 440 looked close.. perhaps you were distracted.. b/c you didn't take much rest - like 35 secs - and just threw that 405 up!!

I think you need some more intense music than "learning to fly" pink floyd is good when your high, not when your bench pressing :dj: :strong:

Nah dude- they were on a smith machine...

Bomber- you are totally capable of hitting this lift man. With a liftoff you would have had it for sure.

Haha, I'm just playing HB, you almost had that bro!!! I agree w/ the music comment, you need some hardcore music that really gets your blood pumping. I know when I listen to some good music my lifts definitely improve and I can focus that much harder.

Keep with it big guy, you're an inspiration to lift heavy! :thumbup:

Yeah man, as soon as I start losing any weight my bench dies. Three months ago, 450 was easy. Now... 425 is rough, and I've only dropped a few pounds.

Get some calories in and you'll smoke it.

They play the local radio station. I have my MP3 player but I had taken it out of my ears so I could talk to the spotter. I should have put them back in.

You're right, a lift off wuold have been nice but the last time I had that dude give me a lift off he like totally messed me up. He like takes control of the bar and gets me started on a wierd angle and then I have to like fight it back to where I need it to be. I usually don't use lift offs in the gym. At the meet I would have though. Thanks dude.

Very close. I think if you had lowered it a tad slower and tighter you might have gotten it... but then again, my bench is beyond pathetic.

It's already been mentioned, but the blonde needs to get off the Smith machine, open her stance and bend at the knees a little more - she's just asking for a back injury (even on the Smith machine)... If you give her lessons and you end up dating, I take full credit.

Actually, she's really hard-core and intense. She comes in and works hard and then disappears. She's reeally stand-offish though. In fact, she has never talked to me. lol

I re3ally think I would have gotten it plus five at the meet. You know, with the adreneline pumping and the whole meet atmoshere but they postponed it -bastards.

I really dont see how you missed that at all... maybe do some heavy 3 boards and some tricep work???

For how easy you nailed 405 (like its as easy as I get 225) you should have been able to get 440 no problem.

I'd feel like a big man if I can deadlift 4 plates per side (405). Lol and HB is going for more than 4 plates per side on a the bench press.

That's funny because it's the same for me. The bar slowed down A LOT (elbows started shaking) around middle of ROM.

I have been doing boards and lockouts. My triceps are strong enough. I was confident I was going to make the lift but I just didn't perform. I didn't even realize that chic was there so I can't blame her.
Oh what the hell, IT WAS ALL HER FAULT!

I guess it dont take much to impress a guy that cant even lift 200pds cause 400 is sick! Ur a big mofo shouldent take you long to hit 440.
