Stats:

5'8"
170 lbs.
BF% ???

i have been lifting for ~3 years. i started at a 36" waist and i am now down to a 32" waist. i was pretty chunky. i need some honest opinions of what i need to work on and what my BF% likely is (just a guess). no leg pics, sorry!!! i am trying to get "cut" and not huuuge. kind of a mark wahlberg-ish physique. not too big, but tight. thanks!

bulk? cut? BF%? pros? cons?

Bodyfat probably 14%.

Chest needs work because it disappears in the front poses (that has a lot to do with bodyfat, too). Back lacks width but you have pretty good traps. Front delts look good, but you really need to bring up those medial and rear heads. You also need to work on that back double bi pose. Flare out your lats and really try to flex your delts hard. I also think your biceps are lagging behind your triceps.

And please don't wear scrubs anywhere outside the hospital... they're so unsanitary. :)

yea, i agree with all your points. i have such a real hard time building my delts. i have blasted them. some parts on me grow so easy...except the delts. i also have just started to work more on my biceps.

you see, i used to have bad "man-boobs" so i really attacked my chest hard to rid them of their flabby-ness!!! :D i know they lack a bit from the front, but its better than when they, well, were a C-cup. LOL

...oh, and those scrubs are my home scrubs :)

(i don't lounge around in the ones i wear in the hospital)

Overall You're heading in the right direction. I'd have to agree with "Beast" on the lacking body parts. Looks to me like you need to be more strict with your diet in order to be more defined.

hmmm well you have an excess of body fat so cutting would not hurt you... but to look like mark wahlburg i would not suggest cutting.. you need to build alot more solid base before you can cut and be in that type of body

not being an ass or anything but you have quite a few years before your marky mark...

but.... from what you said you have made progress so stick with it!

don't get me wrong, i would love to have his build. that said, genes have a lot to do with it. i don't have wide shoulders and my delts are not my strong point. i figure if i have some decent lean muscle and cut to below 10% then i will have the start of a very good A&F look. :D

i'm not expecting overnight success. i am 33yo, married, and work a lot of hours. i just want to look very fit. i spent a lot of years being very chubby!!!

oh, and wouldn't you say that mark wahlberg is far more "cut" nowadays than "big?" i searched some pics and he seems to be a lot smaller now...just with low BF%.

Um...no way that is a 32" waist. I'm blown away. Mine's 34. As I get stronger my waist gets bigger my friend (thanks obliques).

But, good overall build, definitley.

yea, 32" waist. i was a 36" waist some years back. the lowest i have been down to is a 31" waist. a lot of times i buy 34" pants just for comfort. i hate tight waistbands!!!

...and everyone leave my nipples alone!!! :D
