I just had surgery to repair a torn labrum. What kind of supplements should I take to help with recovery? And since I am an athlete and want to be able to walk when Im 50, what other supplements should I be taking regularly for joint health? Thanks

Once the risk of bleeding is gone, fish oil is good for joint health (read issue 1 of Get Built (http://www.wannabebig.com/article.php?articleid=272)for more on this). I'd also suggest vitamin C, as well as plenty of protein and healthy fats. This is NOT the time for a caloric deficit.

You may benefit from glucosamine and MSM for joint health; also ETS (http://atlargenutrition.com/nutrition_detail.php?products_id=5&osCsid=1d6b30846026c4a8a745519ef2a09e47)may prove helpful.

I was just saying that I am a college athlete and so my joints take a beating, especially my knees. I just wanted a good long term supplement for my joints. The labrum is a seperate issue. For that I was looking for some good stuff to help with recover. Thanks for the help everybody.

Without glucosamine my knees are garbage. With it they are 100%.

We have had two top tier powerlifters report good results with respect to using ETS after surgery for one and a pec tear for the other. Give it a shot.

I would have to agree. ETS should be especially good when there are mutliple types of tissue involved. It could help the labrum as well as the harder tissues like cartilage.
