Hey guys ive been researching kaz all morning and i am floored, i never new how strong he was i just new he was the host of WSM and was huge lol. So far this is what i have found, im not sure if this is all true.

663 lbs bench
440 lb barbell curl
210 lb front raises
and i seen a video of him partial deadlifting a weird object at 1055..

any other info??

I remeber watching him do the most amazing thing in a strongman comp once. It was a loading race. They were suppose to pick up the kegs and carry them and load them on a truck. That's what everyone else did. Kaz would pick up the keg take maybe one step and throw the keg into the truck instead. It wasn't just a little toss either. That was the most impressive show of strength in a strongman contest(so far), imo.

lmao at that bruteman.

hes so big also, his forearms are bigger then my upperarms!

440 pound curl, id love to see that. If he can do that and front raise 210 then his bench seems a little low compared to those inhuman lifts. Is he that guy doing the 1000 pound squat who looked like a slob/animal?

nate - iono bro this is just what i found i also heard 315 x 15 on curl, and no that was bud jeffries, not bill lol.

Natetaco

I would have to see the curls to believe it. His other feats are well documented.

I mean that in the best way possible.

It seems that Kaz always gets thrown into the debates about the strongest men of all time. It's deserved.

I would say his bench isn't very big compared to his other lifts for a few reasons:

1. He may not have worn a shirt.

2. He was always training for WSM competitions, and at no point do you lay on your back and press anything, meaning he never really trained his bench.

3. I bet his overhead press was huge.

Guido
09-14-2006, 09:44 PM
Kaz did not wear a shirt. They hadn't been invented yet. That 661 bench press was all raw, and remains one of the top 5 highest RAW benches of all time, even though, like Hazer said, he didn't really train for max bench.

Stumprrp
09-15-2006, 04:50 AM
yep, all raw, hes done 600 for 5 also, and his OH press is probley 350+ which is by far more of an upper body tester then bench.

Both Louis Cyr and Paul Anderson would come ahead of Mr. Kaz I should think.

Perhaps compared to others of their time, for sure. But in absolute terms, no way.

What's really amazing about Kaz is that I think he would be competitive today if we transported 1980 Kaz into the future.

The thing I liked most about him druing the WSM is that he would smoke cigarettes between events.

imo mark henry is the strongest man to ever live, if you can call him a man, looked more like an oversized silverback gorilla in his day

Didn't Anderson lift 6,270 lbs? Has anyone ever equaled that feat?

And Cyr has been documented doing a back lift of over 4000 lbs.

In terms of sheer raw whole body strength are there any other lifters who have equaled or exceeded these men?

LOL! No no, not that!:) :) :)

Basically he (Cyr) stepped under a table with 18 men sitting on it and lifted it off the ground by balancing it on his back.

SaVvY
09-16-2006, 05:22 AM
what is a backlift?
you have like a platform, a flat platform, where you go under it, place your back flat on it, an use everything you have to get the platform to move up, all it has to do is see air - its usually on 4 stands in strongman contests, if its off at all 4's, its a good lift

Stumprrp
09-16-2006, 05:54 AM
oh ok i get it lol good becuase i was thinking if they lifting 2,000+ lbs like the way mike said thats just nuts, but i get it.

Don't even bring other names into this thread, Kaz is a god, and not of his time of any time. His strength was absolutely unhuman especially with the lack of advanced training techniques, advances in diet and drugs that have occured in the past 30 years. He requires weights of over 100 pounds just for his arms to get any effort as stated on bb.com. To see this man in action is absolutly unbelievable, he handles weight unlike any other people in competition, it is as if he has half as much weight as everyone else.

Great thread, Stumprrp

440 lb BB curl? That means he should be benching at least 1000.

This guy was a beast. He still looks damn big when you see him at those WSM events. Anybody have any stats on the guy? Height? weight? chest?

Stumprrp
09-16-2006, 08:58 PM
ricky i think when he was competing he was like 6'5 330 lbs

Westsidemonster

I wonder if he was all natural, or maybe he was just genetically gifted

Stumprrp

gifted for sure but some gear use.

i think he was asked an it was not true, but it was supposed to be a power (cheat) curl, never supposed to be a curl

Stumprrp
09-17-2006, 07:05 PM
i have to agree a 440 even cheat curl is obsurd but ive seen magnus curl 300 x 5 strict, quite insane!

Natetaco
09-17-2006, 08:14 PM
got a video of magnus or anyone doing a 300+ curl, thats just nuts. I think lee priest said he curled 315x5 but who knows

09-17-2006, 08:25 PM
Kaz is my all time favorite. The gear issue is not even relevant, it's like the loser all of you see at the gym that tells you he can be that strong too after he uses a little bit of "supps", haha!

Kaz had the body to go along with the strength, in my opinion he's the definition of what most of us call powerbuilders now.

if u wanna see the video of mag samuellson curling 300lbs for 4 reps ive found the link on youtube.
And it also at the end has him closing the CoC #4 for 2 reps! insane!

Kaz would throw ronnie like he did to those kegs back in the day

i donno, im not so sure kaz could overpower him like he could to others, ronnie is very, very strong..id love to see a sumo match between the two

maggy is supposed to have done a 405lbs power curl + neg (theres a pic on his site), which i think is probably true, he has the strongest arms there ever been, an not just biceps, both triceps and forearms are rediculously strong also

Guido
09-18-2006, 01:58 PM
or even better, who would win in a fight, Kaz or Ronnie?Technique would come into play. I'd think Kaz could probably move better, assuming we're considering both at their peaks. Ronnie is at his but Kaz was at his peak in the early 80's and he's about 20 years older than Ronnie.

No... just... no.

In addition to being at least as strong as the 2 mentioned, he was an incredible athlete. That means he could run for 20 feet and not be out of breath. He had to be able to, the events and feats he trained for tested pretty much all levels of physical strength and performance(except long endurance).

Also Kaz would destroy Ronnie if both were at their peak. Ronnie trains for muscle mass, Kaz trained to move unstable, odd, and heavy objects as quick as possible. Plus he would have the overall mass advantage, though maybe not with Ronnie's offseasons these days.

Coming back from the Arnold Classic 2 years ago, Kaz was behind us in line to go through security. I heard this voice and looked around right into chest. The guy is still a mass of muscle. I was too chicken to say anything but was content just to be able to tell the story.
