Currently I am training with a hockey program off of Bodybuilding.com that was put together by Ryan Foster. Heres a link.

During the first phase or Hypertrophy phase his workout says to do 3-4 sets and between 10-12 reps a set with the 1-1-3 controlled lift. Now heres where im confused, Ive always heard to put on weight, do less reps with more weight(Ex. 3 sets x 5reps of 75-85% Max). Can anyone please help me out here?
