AtLarge Nutrition is very proud to announce a new monthly Q & A column called STACK IT - ATTACK IT - RACK IT! Each month, Mike will answer bench press questions from AtLarge Customers! You literally have one of the best benchers only an email away!

Mike is definitely among the best benchers in the world. He has a competition best raw press of 600 lbs and a shirted press of 830 lbs. Mike’s short term goal is to press over 900 lbs equipped. His long term goal is to simply be the best! In issue 1, Mike covers supplementation, leg drive & shoulder work.. What are you waiting for? Check out the first issue of STACK IT - ATTACK IT - RACK IT (http://www.atlargenutrition.com/mikewolfe_issue1.php)

We have also just published an interview with Mike Wolfe (http://www.atlargenutrition.com/mikewolfe_interview.php) which reveals how Mike eats, trains and supplements to get a big bench. Check it out!

Thanks,

Daniel Clough

No when Mike says he does no additional front delt work or pressing, does he mean military presses as well?

Yep no HEAVY over head presses at all!!! I will occasionally go very light with dumbbells for overeheads but it is not for strength but usually some kind of prehab work. But that is only if my shoulder is bothering me. And i mean very rarely, maybe once every couple of months but nothing heavy at all.

Interesting, I'll have to drop mine, I was doing them twice a week and just recently started seeing my strength declining doing them. I guess I was overtraining my front delts. Thanks for the info Mike, I look forward to future articles.

I saw your nice article and pics in PLUSA, man. I gotta say, you're routine is innovative and obviously works! I've actually started incorporating some of your exercises into my routine, and I'm gonna see how it pans out.

Thanks, Wolfy!

Other bench press, what's your favourite lift?

What are your goals? ex: lifting x amount of weight, lifitng x times bodyweight, etc.

What is the best way to set up so that you don't lose tightness throughout your upperback and lats?
