hey i just got this weight gainer today and im not really sure when to take it. it has almost 700 calorise and 50 grams of protein so should i take it right after the gym? i usually just take whey protein after the gym and i wasnt sure whether weight gainers are supposed to be taken any different than normal protein powder

Weight gainers are just calories in a can. Use it when you needs protein/calorise. Fit them into your diet plan.

Weight gainers are loaded with crappy sugar. Check out the recipes section for some homemade weight gainer shake recipes.
But...
...what's your diet like? What's your routine look like?

well im doing a split routine now, i do Chest and Tris, Legs, Biceps and Back, Shoulders, then ill either start on chest again or do a day of just cardio. i usually take like a day off whenever i feel like i need it or when i cant make it to the gym. so about 6 days a week i go.
im trying to do a slow clean bulk and i weigh about 145 so I eat like 3500 claories a day roughly depending on how much i can fit in my stomach. Im eating a toooon and im looking better but im not really gaining any weight. trying to get bigger without trying to get fatter is turning out to be pretty hard

Stop estimating and start counting.
Gaining weight without gaining fat is stupid easy when you count cals and you know your maintenance cals.
