PUMPER

My six year old has been playing the game "DEF JAM". I just recently found out that it is riddled with curse words and language he really doesn't need to learn at 6 years.
Is there anyone here that knows a game that is as good as the above mentioned without the language? I don't want to spend the money on a game that they won't play. They all love the def jam and would play it all day if I let them. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly (I haven't played video games in ages) the Def Jam games are basically the same as the WWE games. The only difference is you use wrestlers instead of rappers, and they don't swear.

I don't have specific advice but look at amazon.com in the games section. They usually have games linked with similar games, as well as reviews and ratings.

:withstupi You should read some reviews from reputable sources. There is so much sick **** in games and movies today that I wouldn't let my kids (if I had kids) view any of it without researching it first.

Oh come on clawhammer. Video games aren't bad in moderation. Super Nintendo taught me how to read. It also taught me patience when I played street figher two for hours. M. Bison is way too hard.

Exactly, my parents bought me a Super Nintendo when I was five or six and I had tons of hours of fun with that and bonding with my parents without turning into a fat slob.

I ddin't say they were bad at all. I own easily over 100+ games, I love them.
But, when I was 6 I played outside with sticks, the original video game.
If you have to ask to fine a game not riddled with curse words and such, maybe it isn't needed.
On another note:
Mario was/is a great role model, didn't say much, worked hard, got the job done, fanatically save his money, and always had time to save the princess.
Most games today though don't have such great ones.
Gang banger fighting wrestlerr, seems like a little too much.

If language is all you are worried about, I would suggest one of the WWE Smackdown! games. However, it is still just as violent as Def Jam. If you want avoid the violence but still have a fun game, you can't go wrong with one of the classic platform heroes. I like Crash Bandicoot the best.
Good luck.

Why is a 6 year old playing Xbox at all?I started playing video games when I was 4. I don't see a problem with it. Lots of great memories. And also aside from video games, I played outside in the mud with those little green army men, ninja turtles, G.I. Joes, etc...
Good times. ;)

Hell yea! I had like 30 ninja turtle action figures when I was a kid, amazingly durable toys, I loved those things.

I had everything, lol. From Beebop and Rocksteady, to Crang, to the Shredder...I even had that giant blimp and Shredder's layer. :) I have a big box of them in my attic that I haven't even seen in years. They're all pretty scuffed up. :(

I was a fan on splinter's sword/cane and casey jone's bag of goodies. (golf club, bat, etc.) Mike was always eating pizza of course, nunchucks kick ass! :)

LOL! Yeah, I had those too. :)
Oh yeah and uh...that Xbox thing. How about that, eh?
Video games increase spatial skills, so I have no problem with children playing them. I just don't agree that lazy parents should let their children be raised by video games and the TV.

PUMPER, whatever you do, don't let your kids go on xbox live. TONS of trashtalking teens on there, vulgar, inappropriate, crude. It's not a good place for a 6 year old to be. Just a heads up.

Yeah, xbox live is no place for young children.

Nothing wrong with a few video games. I played them a lot as a youngster and had some good times. Have you thought about Crash? It's an awesome game and it's MORE appropriate for kids that age. Whatever you do don't get any of the GTA games because my six year old cousin played them and yesterday he was telling me how he would like to blow up law enforcement officers with "rocket launchers" because they don't help citizens.
