here's me. I"m 5'8" @ 145 lbs. 21 years of age. I've stopped taking protein and supplements a year ago. I don't even eat clean, pretty much anything i find i eat since i want to bulk, but as you can see it doesn't work. Its been like that for the past year and if anything i've lost weight. Maybe too much sports? i'm fairly active. Anyways....critique please.

Are you SURE you're 145lbs? Look bigger to me.

Looking pretty good - try tracking your calories on www.fitday.com to help you get an idea of what you're REALLY eating.

Paintball?

Like Davidelmo said, track your calories on fitday. I used to think I was eating SO much and couldn't gain weight, but in reality I was eating less than 3000 calories.

thanks.

Yes i'm sure i'm 145lbs. Even with my steel toe work boots, wallet, cell phone, jeans and a t-shirt i'm only at 153 lbs on the gym scale.

HAHHA and yea those are paintball marks from a month ago. Weird how they are still there.

Hmmm, you *absolutely* sure you're only 145 lbs? How tall are you, like 5'6''? At any rate, fitday that beast up... my guess is that you're undereating. If that's the case, hit up the natural peanut butter + olive oil and you'll be putting on some muscle before you know it.

HAHAH, yes i'm 100% positive. I can take a pic of the scale with me on it if you guys don't believe me?? do i look too small to be at 145lbs??

When i was seriously into working out and taking supplements, it was a lot easier to pack on meat and muscle. Now just doing it with strictly food takes a lot more dedication. errr.

You look bigger than 145! Like I said before, do a controlled bulk and work out smart. Don't let your BF% get too high. You should see nice gains- especially since you're so lean lean to start.

No reason you can't use supplements and protein. Any specific reason why you're not using them any more?

I was getting crazy acne during the period i was highly into protein + glutamine. I was at 151 lbs and that's been the most i've been in my life.

So i think it's just purely a mental block for me with protein. Whenever i think about it, i think about my acne. That is the reason why i stopped and haven't started back up again. I'm sure it's not the #1 cause of it but i'd rather just avoid it all together.

You're going to avoid protein all together? Ummm... I hope you have good health care wherever you are.

I think he means the protein supplements lol.

I'm not sure why it should cause acne though.. i can't say i've ever heard of that before.

I used to have a big acne problem, and for about the last week I've moved my protein supplement intake up to 100g a day... and there's no increase in acne at all.
