Finally.

I am no longer weak.

Then finished off with 600 x 5.

I was stoked. But I should have hit that milestone months ago.

Yeah, you're a slacker. You'll just have to hit 800 ahead of schedule to make up for it.

Nice job Belial..
I wonder if that's the biggest DL here on WBB?
Besides those "sponsored" ALN pro PL'ers..

Finally not a weak little guy.

Your strength seems to be close to your knowledge, both way above average.

It's about ****ing time. Damn Alex...if you ever got serious and competed, you'd dominate.

Congrats bro--one hell of a milestone.

Nice job. How are you going to fit your now overlyinflated ego into your neon?

You really should give a meet a go. You could do some damage.

I am deadlifting 175 lbs now. How long will it take for me to deadlift 700 lbs?

ShockBoxer
10-13-2006, 01:10 PM
As long as it takes you to deadlift 700 pounds. Could be next year, could be never.

Assigning a timeframe is a good way to overdo it and hurt yourself. There's no set formula for 'x' amount of weight added to bar for 'y' amount of training sessions with 'z' amount of sleep and rest.

700 Holy ****! nearly 16 platesI would love to go the gym one day, lood up 14 45s, and two 10s, and two 5s and 2 2 1/2s and pull it. If anything you might do better in PL then body lifting cause thats a lot for a BBer.

Guido

Ridiculously good job. I'm still shooting for 600, man. Hopefully I'll catch up to you in, oh, about 5 years, though.

Whoa, thanks guys. Actually forgot I even posted this thread. Definitely a high, and it's kinda fun once again looking back on the journal I started here way back when.

I've definitely appreciated all the information, advice, and **** talking I've gotten from this place over the years, and the fact that people can post PRs on this board and get positive feedback and pats on the back from friends and randoms alike says a lot about this place.

I'm tossing around the idea of competing... really, one of my friends/lifting buddies asked me if I felt like 800 was ever in the cards. Raw lifting the way I am, with a routine that is neither here nor there (I've got some powerlifting based workouts, a few "bodybuilding" lifts here and there, and sprinting/mile running all tossed in), I think I'm pretty damn close to my peak at this weight. But it's always a tough decision.

For the record, Nick, I did it with a mixed grip, enough chalk to coat the entire gym floor, and pulled it sumo, feet within about 4 inches of the plates. No equipment. I mean, not that much of it helps the deadlift anyway.

AND I DON'T DRIVE A NEON. :alcoholic

Nah, you just deadlift 'em.

Congrats!

I can't even imagine holding 700 pounds in my arms, that would sure rip the calluses (and the rest of my arms) off me.

I hope to ever deadlift that.

WillKuenzel

Lifting the way you are you might be close to your limit but if you got a well structured PL'ing routine, dude, you'd kill it. If you're even remotely close to 220 you'd probably total elite at your first meet if you had even just a couple weeks to train in some proper equipment.

Maki Riddington

I do need equipment. Size hasn't changes for months, so it might be a good time to invest.

Hit 705 thursday, btw. Had MAYBE another 5-10 in me.

Best shirt? Suit? :D

I'm surprised I missed this for so long.

Awesome deadlift, especially compared to BW.

Sick lift bro. If you don't compete, it's a damn shame. It's ok, there are other metrosexuals who compete. Some kid who does Pilates, goes tanning, does excessive cardio totalled 1600@165 in my last meet.

Now, do you want to know the best gear...or best for a first-timer? You couldn't go wrong with most of the single-ply poly stuff out these days. They make em so nasty now you can get a lot from them and learn them faster than most DD or canvas type shirt/suits. As far as brand goes....Inzer, Metal, Titan all make great stuff and Karins DD shirts are very good.

LOL...I remember when you posted 600 in your journal and how huge that was...lol, we all kept on checking in on your journal to see if you finally got it. All I can say now that I see 700lbs is what took you so long! ;)

Nice job, cabron!

Belial,

How much were you DL'ing when you started in this place? 700 is a huge accomplishment, and I'm just wondering how long it took you to get 600, and then 700 because I'd like it to be me someday!
