Yeah, i smash pre/post workout shakes, then head home to munch on a chicken breast sandwich. So wholemeal bread :p

I mix it up. An hour after my shake, it could be anything from eggs and oatmeal to big tuna sandwich with PB. The bar down the street has chicken fajitas on Wednesday nite for a steal, so me and the woman pack them in. They're GREAT!!!!

oats for me

cutting - 2 scoops nitrean in water and potato, rice, vegy, any of those.
bulking - 2 scoops nitrean in 18 ounces milk, a banana, blue berrys, peanut butter, and oatmeal, BOMB!

Oats+protein has been my staple for ever. Now that I'm bulking I'm mixing it up. Yogurt+berries+protein. Tortillas+yogurt. Cereal+milk+protein.

Straight dextrose, refined goodness.

10-20-2006, 09:50 PM
Shouldn't you have low GI foods after dextrose/maltodextrin (high GI, simple carbs)?

10-21-2006, 08:56 AM
ive been told you should have like a fruit then 30 min after like a potatoe, to fancy for me just get your carbs and protien doesnt matter IMO! when you have a huge bulking PWO shake your getting everything anyways.

10-25-2006, 04:18 PM
well i usually have creatine (w/ dextrose) or powdered gatorade right after my workout.
then i have a low GI carb/protein meal 1-2 hrs later.

is that ok?

10-25-2006, 04:31 PM
You want protein and carbs right after. So add some protein in with after workout.

10-26-2006, 05:17 AM
I eat lots of cereal bars, porridge and white potato(sweet potato if I can get it). White potato and tuna is my afterworkout meal at the moment.

10-26-2006, 05:42 AM
brown rice

10-26-2006, 06:57 AM
but potatoes are low GI so they would have to be your post-post workout meal, am i right?

An 8 oz glass of chocolate soymilk with a scoop of ON whey mint chocolate. It's like rewarding myself for lifting by having dessert. (23 grams carbs, 30 grams protein, 5 g fat).

but potatoes are low GI so they would have to be your post-post workout meal, am i right?

White potatos are fairly high GI. Sweet potatos are low GI.

10-26-2006, 08:57 AM
Protein will lower the GI of any carb it's eaten with. Fat will even more so.

Don't sweat this kind of stuff too much. Plenty of guys, and girls, got big long before anyone had any idea what protein was.

10-26-2006, 08:58 AM
Scoop of nitrean in milk. Piece of bread. Creatine.

I think I stopped worrying about GI post-workout when I realized that it really, really, really doesn't matter.

10-26-2006, 09:04 AM
I usually just kill what's left of my workout shake (whey/dextrose), and then eat a big ass bowl of whole wheat pasta. And sometimes a beer.

10-26-2006, 10:15 AM
Never purposley take in carbs PWO as it just doesn't matter.

10-26-2006, 10:43 AM
That, too. I don't exactly have an anxiety attack if I'm out of soymilk and have a scoop of whey in water PWO.

I just started doing Oats+Nitrean pre/post.

I've tried powdered gatorade, works pretty good. Orange and Vanilla nitrean is AMAZING!
