This was probably the first feeling squat day I've had in a long time, I picked it up off and went down smooth but I either hit parallel perfectly or barely missed it. I hadn't squatted in 10 days and my balance was off and without a belt I didn't want to risk injury, if anyone doesn't concider it legit give it time and ill repost at a better angle. According to my friends it was very close but concidered a squat.

definatly alot short of parallel man. Still.. thats 655

Jinkies
11-02-2006, 08:29 PM
Really wasn't feeling it, just wanted to get the weight on my back and shock the legs back into conditioning. It wasn't as short as it looks, my stance was extremely wide and the angle really didnt help.

I really did want to post on such a off day but everyone was on my ass and I ended up hurting my back. If you freezeframe you can tell that you can't see my knee therefore you can't get an accurate judgement. I know I barley nipped it but if you slow it down you honestly can not tell because my knee is blocked off and the pants don't help either. At any rate ill just do it again with a better shot. Fwi my shirt was tucked in so my pants rid a little higher.

Jinkies, first off you have balls putting that much weight on your back, and your looking huge, but that was about as deep as my rack squats.

i still give u props.

My pants are grey and black, freezeframe it and you will see. I'll just repost later. Definately should of been better at and rate. So don't be too rough.

Half squat at best, but you did fly out of the hole with 655 on your back. I believe the weight and have a reason to believe your bench video now.

Its absurd how you put that much iron on your back and just hossed it out, probably could do 500 ATF which is freaken beast for anyone let alone a 16 year old.

Both videos are impressive, but if I was you, I'd couldn't give a **** what a bunch of internet posters want to see on their time (sorry guys:).)

Post another video, but on a good day, on your own time. Trust me, we aren't going anywhere. We'll still be here when that day comes. Next week, next month - we'll still be here!

And I agree, that takes courage to step under and walk out with that much weight. Good job!

It's just so hard for me to believe you're 16. You have a full beard and have the build of 21 year old man beast. i thought I was big when i was 16!

At your height to get below parallel that bar would probably have to touch the braces. Still a lot of weight, and great at your age (or any age).

Not quite parallel, but still strong as hell man.

Awesome job Jinkies.. you really gotta get into a competition.. in the 100% Federation, you would own all the records for 275s under 20..

Can't tell it you hit parallel.. but I look forward to watching all your vids..

definitely a halfsquat, but still very impressive indeed

Here's my take:

-Yes you're a big damn 16 yr old
-That was an awesome walkout
-It wasn't much more than a walkout--there was about a 6" ROM

Bottom line is no one is doubting you're strong, but a 675 PR is NOT in you. Have some integrity and go to parallel (or below) when you squat. You're not doing yourself any favors by doing half squats.

You're a beast, but yes...that was a very low ROM for the squat. That walk out was insane though. Keep working at it though. You're a strong mofo.

I'll give you props for handling 655 in a very strong walkout.

But like others have said, that wasn't even close to parallel.

Pretty much what I was going to say. You definitely have a lot of strength in you though, so by hitting parallel you'll probably be around the mid-5's range which is still pretty respectable. Work with a suit and fix your form and you would do well in a PL competition.

this looks to be the same as what i did with 500 first time i did weighted squats - its a half squat

i did squatting to par a few weeks later an did 326lbs for 2 singles, you have to drop the weight a lot from half squat to par, never mind to full squat

Let's agree to disagree. Maybe next time he will have video from the side so it won't be a subject for debate.

You do realize parallel is closer to when the hip joint is in line with the knee joint. That means that the bottom of your hams are typically well below parallel...

He wasn't even close.

I showed my friend who usually spots me ( he works at golds gym, known for years) He said thats one of the worst squats hes seen me do, he wouldn't count it and asked me what was up with it.

My 605's were perfect, I know that much but anyways I will be posting proof. Its insulting yall say mid 500's to me, so ill just have to have a better day next time.

If that is 655 lbs you are one very strong young man.

The walkout was so fast as to have it appear that nothing was on your back. I have seen some VERY strong people squat and I cannot remember anyone walking out with that much weight on their back as though it were nothing. I have some doubts about the weight on the bar actaully being 655 lbs.

Anyway, its the net and who knows...

It looks that no matter how much proof Jinkies supplies to the forum there will be doubters. I know people who were 16 years old, 186 lbs and squatted 505. Yes, Jinkies is squattin 150 pounds more, but he didn't do a full squat. I fully believe what he has posted on here to be credible.

The bar sure is bending a lot like there is 655 on there though.

Jinkies
11-04-2006, 03:59 PM
It doesn't feel heavy when its on my back, its just that I felt really wobbily.

I can control that weight for a parallel squat and if you actually look at the video three made a good point. My pants were black/grey and as you see me squat down you can't see my knee point. You don't know how far down I was because you simply CANNOT see my knee at all. You can see the grey point blending in with the bar in the shape of the outline of my knee, if freezeframed I was indeed very close to parallel.

I have no problem taking the shot from another angle, that weight is something I work with alot. I can squat more and go to parallel; I will even go to a different gym and do it so you can see the difference; next leg day will be at golds( they are belts and chaulk I can use)

You are very strong to be sure but you CANNOT say that squat was even close to parallel. You were quite high. Again, you handled the weight VERY well and you are VERY strong but the depth of that squat not good at all.

I had below parallel squats, my off day and yalls comments pissed me off so bad I made sure to hit everyone perfect.

I did 135x10 315x8 405x8 500x6 585x4 and 605x2

I added in a the 405 set and by 605 it was a real struggle. I without a doubt hit below parallel on each squat i am certain of this. Seems like no matter how many times I comment with the 655 being a off day but I posted anyways just to keep yall off my back yall keep assuming I can only hit 585 parallel. Once I work back up to my heavy day in my routine I will repost.

Jinkies, you are huge. And strong.

Next time make sure you a do a btter quality video, though. Pan the camera so we can se the plates on the bar, then put in directly on the side so we can see exactly how far you are going down, wearing shorts or lighter colored pants. That will remove any and all doubts.
