Impressive nonetheless!

amazing. A 1000 lb dl is much more impressive than a 1000 bench imo.

you think so? I dunno 1000 pounds resting in my hands above me seems alot harder than pulling it up imo.

wasnt the last WR 971 by bolton? lol stomped that record

the 1000 lb bench was done with a quadrupple ply shirt ..... the day that someone benches 1000 RAW weighing under 300 lbs will be the day i **** myself

he's huge, he makes big guys look like ants haha. next stop 1.1k If the bones can support it without literally breaking in half and shattering at the top. haha I dont know what Im talking about but mine probably would

Freakin' incredible!!!
Yeah, I think this is a bit more impressive.. not only b/c of the lack of equipment help but also because the DL doesn't allow that rebound/coiled effect that Squat and BP do. But then again, the BP and Squat have some fear in them too.. you can always just drop the weight with DL. 1/2 the other..

That's a good point - so far as I know, bone can't get stronger. That's why elephants have thick squat bones instead of skinny bones that are strong as steel. Bone has one strength, the only way to carry more weight is to add more bone around the sides.

I wonder if it's possible to hit the maximum compression strength of bone - it's not going to be pretty when it happens!

Heh one day i'll do 1,300!
Heh, be nice :)

But either way this guy is impressive.

Bone can get stronger and weaker. A weightlifter's bones are stronger and denser than a non-trained individual.

Light weight, Chuck Norris can deadlift more using his index finger. Only his right one though, as he recently broke his left one attempting a 3000 pounds deadlift.

What is next, 1035 pounds? (11 plates a side). With these annoying kilos, I don't really know what's next...

After watching the vid at gometal it doesn't look like he fully locked out the lift.
When the head ref. gave the down motion, Andy still looked to be going backwards.

I guess there will always be someone trying to take away another's glory

Edit: That other video with better quality and it doesnt look like he locked out properly.

Amazing lift. I think even if he didn't lock it out (after freeze-framing it, I'd say it is exceptionally close either way), he probably had the strength to finish it.

Jinkies
11-05-2006, 09:22 PM
Im pretty confident that he could nail the lockout.

But if it was any other person and any other weight I think it wouldnt have been concidered legit.

The judge was excited though.

Wow. Insane. If he ever pulls 1,100 I'll ***** myself.

I think that one 19 year old that pulled 830 will pull 1,100. 4 years of lifting experience and 830? Give him 10-15 years and I can see him doing it.

yes, but ***** has 5 letters. I was trying to figure that one out myself lol.

Anyways, looked like he has more in him. Definitely didn't see him struggle too much bringing it up. Damn impressive.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SMZNvDJX_UFrom that prespective, it looks more like he locked it out. Considering that the judge was looking at him from the front, too, that's probably why he gave the down command.

Adam

Yup , on that angle it looked like he locked it.

Chris686

I don't think he did myself, but the ref said he did and that's all that counts.

Either way, excellent lift. You can't really tell how big he is until watching the video Wayne posted. Freaking huge!
How much does he weigh?

Guido
11-09-2006, 08:07 AM
I'm pretty sure he's in the 350 lb range.

Watching someone lift that much weight is definetly a humbling experience...Right?
