View Full Version : my new macro plan
Here's my plan fer eating.. this is the first time im gonna record and calculate what im eating.
I'm 22, 140lbs.. goal to gain 20lbs lean mass
Total calories: 3000
Protien (25%) 750cals, 187.5g
Fat (25%) 750cals, 83g
Carbs (50%) 1500cals, 375g
I probably am currently only eating like 1800 cals or soemthing.. so im hoping for some improvement when i start eating 3000.

Looks good - you hit all your minimums. Is there any particular reason you are using a percentage scheme?

Looks good, but I wouldnt just up your cals by 1200 in one week.
Personally I would 600 then 600 again in a couple of weeks.

When you say i hit all my minimums.. just wondering what you think my minimums are. I think 120g of protien is my minimum, im not sure about my min for the rest.
Dunno why im using a percentage scheme.. it just works the best with the types of foods i eat. I tend to eat alot of carbs. Here's my fitday output for today. I'm short on protien today, but its an improvement from my regular calorie numbers.
Total: 2353cal
Fat: 58g 525cal 24%
Carbs: 334g 1300cal 60%
Protein: 90g 358cal 16%
Alcohol: 0 0 0%

The industry is pretty set on macro %'tages.
We are a little ahead of the curve on this one because BUILT was way ahead of the curve.

Minimum's:
.5g/lb of lbm for fat
1.5g/lb of lbm for protein
Fill in the rest with whatever you want.
Been eating 3000 cals a day now for the last few days.. already seeing improvement. I've noticed im taking in way too many carbs tho, so im gonna switch to a different protien powder that doesnt have so much carbs.
I also got a tan a couple days ago.. could be the reason i think i look better. haha

Unless you're carb cycling, there is no such thing as too many carbs! Again, hit your minimums (0.5 g fat/lb LBM, 1g/lb LBM protein) and fill the rest with whatever you like.

ratio to LBM is crucial.
