Hi there,

I'm currently in the process of refining my diet, feel free to check out my fitday. I have been sick the last two days so it's incomplete.

The real reason for this thread is for help with my food preparation for the week.

I would like to make a batch of tuna, mayo and seeds and was wondering how long this might last in the fridge. Would it possibly last 7 days?

How long would boiled eggs last?

Is there a general rule for the shelf life of prepared food.

regards

Boiled eggs usually a week, but I've never tested that.

Tuna/mayo, who knows I don't eat either. BUT i would think around the same time.

Thats all you can do, if it smells funny don't eat it.

I prepear 5 cans of tuna at a time. I eat it over 5-7 days and it is fine.

FYI it is a myth that mayo spoils easily.

hey red, thanks. I like to mix seeds in with my tuna mayo, do you know if these will spoil easily in the damp mixture.

Tuna is dirt cheap at Sainsburys, only 29p a can and it tastes just as good as the expensive stuff.

Seeds shouldn't go bad either, especially if it's in the fridge. I found it started tasting stale after more than a week. Not bad, just stale. I wouldn't make more than you can eat in a week. But at 29p a can, maybe a I would....
