I have been putting oats in my postwork shake but its just hard trying to drink them. I do grind the oats into a dust but the swell when the liquid hits them. What else could I put im my shake to get the carbs?? Thanks

an easy fix for this is frozen fruit, it doesn't digest too fast, honey is also not too bad glycemically speaking either.:ninja:

Thanks guys Ill try some of that stuff. I have one question, do I get the same benefit from the dextrose, honey, and fruit as I would from the oats?

you would benefit from a fast digesting carb like dextrose more then a slow digesting carb like oats post workout

i've yet to buy dextrose or malodextrin so i just mix in some powerade

Baby oatmeal. It mixes great in shakes. You don't even need to blend it.

Powdered Gatorade or Powerade are cheap. If you have the money, then get waxy maize like lones suggested.

11 servings per pound @ 3.59 a pound that's ~32.5 cents per serving.

I don't know how cheap gatorade powder is, but WM is not expensive, even if you workout 5x a week you add all of $1.80 a week to your bill (and that's not discounting that you could subtract your gatorade powder expense)

- just sayin I wouldn't let price keep me away from WM but if you just prefer gatorade well that's another story :)

i put wheat germ in most of my shakes but for a post work out i would have to say something faster, like sugar... if you are able to. get a recovery protien / carb mixed drink. i haven't tried the waxymaize but i have heard nothing but good about it.

Get your ass a magic bullet. Blend the oats before putting it into the shake. Then put the rest of the crap in following the oats and your set.
