View Full Version : Bulk to Cut Transition

What's the general feeling here about length of transition between bulk and cut? I've been eating about 3000 - 3200 calories per day on my bulk, while my maint. is 2600. I've seen good gains with this diet. When I cut, I wanna eat around 2000 calories. Should I just take a week and eat at maint. then cut or should I just start reducing cals now? I want to start cutting around mid December.

Remember also that if your bulk was successfull, your maintenance should be higher.

simply reduce cals by like how much? and would it be slowly reducing it every week or by day?

i prefer about 200 cals every 2 weeks. when you find yourself not gaining/losing, you'll know that's about where your new maintenance is. then you'll know how much lower you need to go to start "cutting".

and a bulk can last as long as you want.

Non-stop? That's 130 weeks. Did you gain a pound a week, or go slow and gain a pound a month?

you bulk until you think yopur 2 fat then cut until your happy or 2 skinny.

OP if you are bulking at 3200 id go down to 3000 then keep reducing dailys calls by 200/300 for a week or 2 until your loosing weight. when you stop loosing decreae again. 2000 cals are far to low for any male i think.

ummm wouldnt you decrease first ONLY enough to maintain your weight, not decrease it? .... bulk--->maintain for few weeks--->cut/lose weight.

You can. I usually maintain for a week before I switch tracks, but my bulks are cuts are slow so they don't affect my metabolism much.
