View Full Version : A sad sad day for me

I was under the impression that a large pizza was roughly 1000-1200 calories. Out of curiousity, I went to a nutrition fact thing and an all meat large papa johns pizza is over 5000 calories!!!

WTF? it said 1/14 is the serving size, so I'm guessing thats a slice, yea well 390 calories a slice... And so, as I went to bed last night I said good bye to pizza, the veil has been lifted and reality sucks! :)

The thread is incase anyone was under the same impression.

All meats pizza - serving size 1/14 lrg, 5.1 oz. 390 calories, 19 grams of fat, 37 grams of carb, 19 grams of protein. Total cals = 5460 calories.

nah dude a serving is 1/8 of a pie a 14 inch cheese is 300 cals pers slice 300 X 8 is 2400 so 2400 cals per pie

370 per slice w the meat so your pie was about 3000 cals

yea, thats a cheese but what brand? I specifically looked up the brand

Tell me I'm wrong

Yes. Pizza is packing calories... I wonder if my friends are going to try to choke me if I mention the nutritional values next time they order.

You can EAT an entire large pizza?

11-13-2006, 10:39 AM
those numbers are wrong its not 1/16

No nutritional value for fresh pizza is going to be accurate. Every person on the staff uses a different amount of ingredients when making one... quite often differing from pizza to pizza.

lol I COULD eat a whole pizza but up until yesterday, it would have been my all day meal. so I'd eat 4 times the day, a quarter a pizza at a time. easiest set of meals ever...but I'm cutting it out now.

rk77 ok, well 8 slices at 350 cals a shot....still over my daily limit so still gotta cut it out

11-13-2006, 01:46 PM
would eating pizza and similar foods be a cheat on a bulk?

I agree with you, just tryin to make ya feel a lil better. 3000 is better then 5000 cals. 350 a slice is still real high, I'd agree it will benifit you to cut that out of your diet.

I know how you feel though, I always bang on half a pie when im wasted, never a great feeling the next day, haha.

What a large pizza from a fast food place only having 1200 cals haha only in your dreams man.

11-14-2006, 06:27 AM
hahah apparently those were some damned good dreams...

11-14-2006, 09:30 AM
Hmmm 300-400 cal per slice is a good estimate for any fast food pizzas I guess. That is if you don't dip the crust in butter that comes with it :)

haha i usually have a papa johns pizza every friday. Half vegetable and half chopped meat. The rest of the week i eat clean but I like to have my "keep my sanity day" it helps me stay on my plan. Plus i go to the gym on friday and hit it extra hard just so i can down some extra pizza. mmmmm carbs.

I quit eating pizza because the grease from a local pizza joint literally made me feel sick. I nearly heaved and I had to leave work. :(
