View Full Version : 275 x 3 Bench Press, 295 x 5 Pendely Row Videos

Heres some more videos to add to my arsenal of videos, these are nothing special at all, just bench 275 x 3 not to failure, as you can see i use no leg drive or bounce, and 295 x 5 pendely rows, i think i do these right, all arm pull after the half deadlift, decent i suppose.

Nice lifts.

Man, I don't know how you can pump iron in a sweat shirt. I turn into a human furnace when I get pumped and would probably pass out with a sweat shirt on.

11-13-2006, 06:06 PM
HUGE! That is awesome man, strong as hell.

11-13-2006, 06:07 PM

11-13-2006, 06:10 PM
Strong! I'm really impressed with your videos.

11-13-2006, 06:11 PM
Do you do any olympic lifts? The way you do the Pendlays is a bit more dynamic, using the posterior chain more, and so it's probably a better sub for the quick lifts than rows.

Eitherway, that's nice an heavy.

11-13-2006, 06:13 PM
Looking strong...another impressive video! Way to go

11-13-2006, 06:20 PM

Wow, that 275 went up so easy I could cry. It's pretty remarkable how strong you are at your age. I'm not saying you don't work you ass of for it, because you clearly do (and you routinely post videos of your lifts to squelch any doubts before they come up, which is awesome), but it's truly amazing how much natural ability you have for lifting. Most people would have to spend the better part of a decade to come up with the numbers you post, and some may never do it. So yeah, great work man and I hope you can keep it up.

My only comment is that it seems you're using your legs a lot on the rows. I think of pendlay rows being a little more like this (or that's how I do them at least):

11-13-2006, 08:47 PM
tofer i highly respect those words, as ive stated before over and over eventhough i was a 275lb fat bastard i was still built decent, with a 190ish bench off the bat and almost a 315 deadlift (4" off the ground), so yeah the genetics are there (no idea how)

i think i am also on the rows, i was doin em how HB does them, its ok i guess its one hell of a ham workout so might as well do em this way.

11-13-2006, 08:59 PM
Oh, don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with them. As far as traditional bent-over barbell rows go, they look great! All I was saying is that pendlay rows use minimal hip movement, where you're staying strictly at 90 degrees, as opposed to pulling to 45 degrees at the top of the lift.

11-13-2006, 09:05 PM
ah i see man, cool, ill do em like this next time, thx.

11-13-2006, 09:11 PM
Post another video of you doing them some time, if you get the chance. I've never actually seen someone doing heavy weight on a strict pendlay row, so I think it would be interesting to see.

11-13-2006, 09:13 PM
crazy strength rob.. keep on posting vids and amazing us with your lifting

11-13-2006, 09:24 PM

This is a Pendlay Row.

I don't know what I was watching in your video. No offense, but you could lose some weight on the bar and work on perfecting your form.

11-13-2006, 10:36 PM
Maki, we posted the exact same video. Check post #13.

11-14-2006, 04:45 AM
chris thankyou
sid thx dude
maki ok my mistake but IMO im still not over englishing them, ill do them the right way from now on

11-14-2006, 05:59 AM
i dont do either of these exercises but i know that was good solid benching

yeh pendely row is with legs straight - for a vid of big weight on this exercise, go to marunde-muscle.com, you can probably find something in the search, i remember vids of one guy doing 495 x 5, he also did trap bar deads with 900+ training for a car deadlift event

11-14-2006, 06:03 AM
Nice work, stumpsta!

Looking very strong Stump. Have u ever seen the prison drama called OZ?

Well u are looking like one of the tough guys out of that now....hehehe especially in the gray sweat top.

11-20-2006, 10:30 PM
Like others have said, that is not a Pendlay Row.

Your hips shouldnt move at all during a Pendlay Row.

11-21-2006, 12:56 AM
was checking my depth free squat and never noticed how large my legs and ass is, dont get me started on the hair.
damn thick.

Excellent lifting stumprrp. It didn't even look like you struggled.

11-22-2006, 01:51 PM
