All green teas I have ever seen are yellow. Being curious, I tried to find why it is called "green" tea.

It seems there are truly teas that are green? Is it a matter of quality? Any difference in antioxidant content?

I've drank white tea too, which had about the same color and taste as the green tea I know...

I hope some green-tea lover can explain me all this.

Thanks

all the green tea extract i've tried are green. my guess is that after it is mixed with water the color becomes more diluted.

If you ever look at actual organic green tea in tea packets, you'll find that it is indeed green. I suspect that you have seen some type of food dye or something.

The green teas have been less oxidized under sun so they stay "green" in a package. I guess they brew yellowish just because :)

I'm quite sure the extracts have dye added.
