Im sure there are some people who do the martial arts, especially since i see a thread on martial arts competing.

Anyway, do you guys have any specific training routine that you work in with the weights ?

Yes. Some guys incorperate Cross Fit or workouts that follow the principles they espouse.

I train in a certain manner for my sport, but do not follow Cross Fit style workouts.

Check out Crossfit - it incorporates olympic lifting, powerlifting, strongman training, calisthenics, track & field, rowing, etc. If it doesn't turn you into a machine, nothing will.

Awesome articles.

I tried hard to look for strength stuff, but in all honesty, if you are training MMA for 4/5/6 days a week... a lot of strengh will come from that. Picking people up, taking them down, holding them down, bending their limbs, protecting yours, will all help you build up strength.

When I was doing weights 3 days a week I just got tired for my lessons and felt like crap. So instead I have just been working on my cardio and relying on sparring people to get my strength up.

I will probably go back to weights, but for now it all seems to be working. It also helps I am the smallest guy at my gym :P I weigh 68KG and everyone else is over 75KG, up to 90KG in some cases...

Priority 1: Lessons / Sparring
Priority 2: Cardio / Fitness
Priotity 3: Weights / Strength
