They felt so much better than standard alternating lunges, and less boring.
Have any of you guys tried both, and which do you prefer, if any?

I wanna try walking lunges. I am only able to do regular lunges because my gym is small and packed. I love lunges though.

I prefer walking, but all variations are great.

As far as lunges go, how do they compare in mass building ability compared to a squat? I ask this because in a month I'm not going to have access to my college gym due to Christmas break and I'll have to replace squats with lunges.

I have no power rack at home and there's no way I'd be able to do the squats at a heavy weight.

I think for one thing, your knee should come close to the ground but it shouldn't quite touch it. And make sure your legs aren't buckling off to the sides. It's a smooth controlled motion. If you take longer strides you'll tend to feel it more in your glutes, while narrower strides tend to be felt more in the quads. Great all-around exercise.

clean the weight up and do front squats :D, and walking lunges are my fav kind of lunges... then again, i don't do lunges too often cuz they're hard, and I'm lazy lol.
