preworkout · coffee, r-ala, yohimbine, taurine, and l-tyrosine.

· incline dumbbell press

· barbell rows
155x6, 155x6, 155x6, 155x6, 155x6, 155x6

I started off with less weight today because I actually know my limitations on upper body. I may have selected far too low for dips, but otherwise I was ok. So far, I may just look like a big pussy, but there is method behind the madness; at least I think.

Hey gal,

Have you found the Taurine to be benificial?

_8_

galileo

.8.ball.

Well, for what its worth, my sex drive has increased ridiculous amounts since taking it. I've read elsewhere that this is a possible "side effect," so I link this to the taurine. As far as performance goes, I'm not really sure. I was able to complete some rather voluminous workouts without entirely breaking down, so something I'm taking is doing the trick.

Hey Gal,

Quick questions about your cutting program...

In it's simplest form, was it a gradual calorie decrease from around 2,000 cals to a low of 1,300-1,400s over the course of 3 days? and then you would start over?

Thx,

It's carb cycling. It allows me to have a large deficit, prevent leptin from dropping (and consequentially lose progress), and also allows me to keep my sanity. I don't lift on no carb days, mainly just on high carb days. The low carb days (middle of the road), I may do cardio.

If I win, I rock. If he wins, I still rock. It'll be hard to even judge, so I guess an overall bf% loss is the only way we can. I'm 180 @ 11.75% by 3-site right now, which is likely close to 15% in reality. If I lose at the pace I expect to, then I could be a real-life 8% by the time it ends. If I can get there, then I win no matter what because it'll mean I stuck to it. I'm just afraid with the move and home improvement work on its way that I will lose focus. That's why I need Rob to motivate me.

I want to workout in the worst way. I am considering switching to UD2.0 again just so I can do so at work. My joints feel a lot better now and I'm just going to have to make efforts to not **** them up any further.

When I did squats last week my outer quads felt some serious pressure and my knees were aching during the workout. This can't be beneficial. So, I took some more time off. Some voluntary, some involuntary, but I'm going to get back into it. Rob and I put our deal on hold because we've both had uncontrollable set backs and it just wouldn't be fair.

Good news is, my puppy loves to run. I ran her until she tired out last night and perhaps I can soon teach her the value of HIIT. Muahaha!

Well, I'm in the process of packing/cleaning right now and that's proving to be an arduous task. The puppy is good; she's learning to use a litter box! Overall, we're still in a constant-monitoring phase, but once we can trust her with the litter box, it'll be a lot easier to get things done. Tonight I plan on clearing out the bedroom and packing away all of the out-of-season clothing and tossing the **** I'm never going to wear again.

I'll workout again someday, I promise. The good news is that I think my fat cells have become somewhat insulin resistant. I'm not piling on the fat as I used to.

I am very sore this morning; not like it is a shock or anything. The worst soreness is in my extensor carpi radialis longus, which always seems to get slammed by the lat pulldowns. I'm dreading today's leg workout because I am so unbelievably tired.

The puppy is now officially litter trained. It was far easier than I expected it to be as well. One long weekend and she had it down and now she's actively seeking out her box when she has to go. Very smart puppy. She knows a handful of tricks already and more are coming all the time.

Ok sleep.

.diet. - .depletion.

I didn't have time to eat my last meal, so I hit up a whey shake at home before the workout.

• 2 scoops whey, 2g fish oil
• 1 chicken breast, 1 tsbp olive oil
• 1 scoop micellean, 1 orange, 1 tbsp olive oil

.supplements.

• mutli-vitamin, c, b, e, zinc, heat, sesathin, glucosamine/msm

.training.depletion.two.

I punished myself for being off the diet so ****ing long.

• narrow atf squat
95x15, 95x15, 95x15, 95x15, 95x15
• good mornings
95x15, 95x15, 95x15, 95x15, 95x15

• hamstring curl
45x15, 45x15, 45x15, 45x15, 45x15

That was enough for this evening. The hamstring curls sucked because the setup I have at home is absolutely not made for such an exercise.

Not much time to update today; consultants are coming in to fix our shipping issues. Yesterday was way longer than I'd expected and I didn't get to do everything I needed to do. Marlynn was sick so she didn't want to be out and about, so no Ikea, no Best Buy, and only a fleeting trip through the other furniture stores we went through.

This next week :
1. Paint
2. Rewire
3. Tear up yard

Also, my computer is broken so I can't check anything from home. ****ing communism.

So, I'm fat. Very fat. Not like the fat I was before, I've attained a whole new level of fatness. But, I know I am responsible for getting myself here, so I'm going to do my damndest to get myself into a normal condition.

The Diet
T-Mag's 7 Habits of Highly Effective Nutritional Programs

The Routine
T-Mag's The Creation of a T-Man

Yes, I am going to attempt to become a t-mag whore. I constantly hear some of my online friends espouse these magic things, so I am forgetting all I know (not too hard to do) and I'm blindly following a routine layed out by Mr. John Berardi. I imagine it is going to work quite well as it contains all of the basic things that I should probably be doing, but don't, like cardio and healthy eating.

I'm going to stick to this routine for 4 weeks, take a week off, then repeat the routine slightly mixed around. I am not going to give up, I can do this at work and there are few days when I can't make it to workout, so I should be good to go.

Home improvement is fun. I rewired some of my basement yesterday and bought some new switches. Also took out a faux wall that was already framed and moved it to give some more room. Tomorrow night, we're gonna rip out some aluminum and throw in copper. The friggen box is like half aluminum. Then this weekend, we're going to put in recessed lighting and knock out a wall in the kitchen.

I went to pick up my TV and BAM! It was on sale for $400 less than I paid for it. Pricematch! Then, I sold something on ebay that I got for free and pocketed 400 more bucks! Good week. Now I can fund a few more home improvement projects.

.06.21.2004.

I am officially, what I would call, morbidly obese. I could barely roll my fat ass out of bed this morning, let alone do anything productive. I've lost a ton of what I've worked hard for and it sucks. I need to be around people who are more in shape than me, else I find it difficult to follow through. Since that isn't happening, I'm just going to have to recommit myself. I need structure. I need stability. I am getting both back.

So, yeah. I did my pinches this morning. My ab pinch has over doubled to 25mm. Killer! My weight has stayed the same, which means I lost muscle at the same time! Who said body recomposition isn't possible? I always swap some hard-earned muscle for fat in periods of laziness.

Fun! Ok, so this weekend I finished framing out the basement and installed the insulation. I also managed to get a bunch more crap moved and organized. This week I will do the final moving and get the apartment carpets cleaned, hopefully allowing me to get back at least half of my security deposit. If not, I'll scream a little, but it'll be alright.

I hope that I can get the recessed lighting installed this week and a lot of the rewiring for the upstairs complete. I really enjoy recessed lighting so this should be a great project. It sucks so far, because a lot of the work done has no visible payoff. Soon though...

Well as any wonderful week, it has to come to an end. Today has been a textbook example of how a Monday should go. In Hell.

.diet.

Guess whose calves have grown almost an inch since he started working them regularly? No, not Arnold - me. Up to a whopping 15" , which happens to be tremendous for me since I was sitting around 14" before. Marlynn even noticed the change, which rocks since she never notices anything.

Tonight...more home improvement. Who woulda guessed?

My damned oven is broken. When you fire it up there is a very pronounced natural gas smell and it doesn't go away very quickly. I can tell when I turn it on that it takes too long to light and the seal isn't good enough inside to keep the gas in the chamber.

I've attached a new picture of Marlynn as I think it looks pretty good.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.
I was thinking about that on the oven. The previous owner said that it was fine before and they think that it might have a lifetime warranty, but I find that difficult to believe. I'm actually going to call the gas company first and have them take a look at it. They will come up for free and check all gas situations to see if there are levels above normal with their meters. If the warranty is up and there is still a problem, I'll likely have to ****ing buy a new ****ing stove. When it rains it pours.

Hey Bro...looks like you've got a real babe there.
Sounds like you're having loads of fun with the drywall.....("wax on ,wax off") Galileoson :D Actually a great tip that was passed along to me was not to sand the mud.....use a damp sponge with warm water (this cuts down bigtime on the dust) and it works as fast as 200 grit...just thought I'd pass that along in case you're not quite done yet

A little update for you all.

My gas stove is still broke, so I can't cook any food. Sucks. Diet is on hold until that's resolved.

Marlynn's cat (4 yrs old) diet of what appears to be some sort of CNS disease. Meningitis, brain cancer, even rabies. It was a hard weekend and we're still nervous, but her remains will be tested for rabies to be certain we're safe. Needless to say, it was an emotional two days for her family, but I ended up taking care of the entire evnt. They were grateful as it was much too hard for them, but it did hurt me to see her in such a state.

Been doing a lot of house work. Dug out about 4 varieties of juniper plant. I ****ing hate those things. I also dug up a dying yucca and a ton of weeds. We threw down vegetation killer on the paver bricks that were used to make our patio and now we're just hoping it doesn't rain for at least another hour. You know the previous owners left a 5ft weed grow in their backyard? I saw it and was like what the ****?!? It was innertwined within the juniper roots, so it was tough to fully eliminate. I had to spray a bunch of that Weed B Gone **** that doesn't kill grass. This fall I'll do a weed n' seed on it and twice this spring. Hopefully we can restore our grass a bit. I'm not a fan of the "field grass" look and that's what it's become.

I bought a 4-cycle Troybilt trimmer and it works like a champ. It was like $159, but a requirement of mine was that it was 4-cycle. I need to spend less money, I think...

Wikked, thanks for the advice. We're going to wet sand the final finish, but my buddy said he's had poor results using that method for the first two and he's the one with the tools. :D

Watch as I own this douche. For non-computer people, there is an A+ certification for technicians. This guy told me that he has his C+ certification.
As soon as he told me that, I thought it'd be fun to own him.

galileo: Software Engineering
douche: Heh I started to go into that stuff
douche: I got my c plus and network and junk
douche: then decided to drop it all
galileo: C plus huh
douche: yeah I had the basic junk
galileo: Have you settled on McDonald's as a trade, then?
douche: took 2 years of junk even took cad/cam and stuff
douche: nope
douche: I work in a office with a bunch of chics :p
galileo: I suppose that has some benefit.
douche: I'm married :p
galileo: Then why did you mention the "chics?"
douche: you know of any good programs I download music from?
douche: something new thats not been burn out
galileo: I used Discover
douche: discover?
galileo: It's a pain in the ass though
douche: never used that one
galileo: I have to go to the store and hand them my card
douche: blaa I don't wanna pay
douche: I want a free software snacther :p
douche: I've use alot of them but they always get corrupt
douche: audio gaxaly, morpheous, napster, kazaa, winmx on and on and on
galileo: That would be a good reason to get a good job
galileo: and purchase music legally.
douche: ?
douche: I like my job
douche: I like my stuff free 2 :p
galileo: What do you do for a living?
douche: I work for a pest control place
douche: I sit in a office and type of letters all day
galileo: So if people were to come into your parking lot
galileo: and steal the pest control equipment
galileo: use it and bring it back
galileo: it would be cool?
douche: I could care less
galileo: I mean, the equipment is back in your place of business
galileo: Do you think you'd still have a job if everyone did that?
douche: I'm not suppose to be on here but I am
douche: whats the point
douche: I only like very few songs
douche: why buy a whole cd for 1 song
galileo: You don't have to
douche: when I can download it and burn a mix cd
galileo: There are about 1000 sites out there right now
galileo: that sell 1 song
galileo: for $.50-$1.00
galileo: So you buy the songs you want and make your mixed CD
galileo: and the artists still get paid for what they've done.
douche: heh
douche: I got over 8,000 song
douche: :p thats alot of money I would have had to pay
galileo: So you feel it is cool to steal $4000-$8000?
douche: I gotta split
douche: peace

Ok, here's a quick update!

The house modification is going well, but I'm running out of money.
We're finishing up the wiring this week then we're gonna start on the waterfall pond. Sounds like a blast eh?

I accepted a job with my friend to put an addition on a house. I need the extra cash, so we're going to do it. 4 nights and a saturday to frame/truss/felt it, then let another guy come in and do the drywall. We're going to put a bid in on completing the roof while we're at it. Yes, I'm a Software Engineer and General Contract0r now.

Anyhow, I look like I've never worked out a day in my life, but I'm going to reverse that again here fairly soon. I hate being fat, especially when the fat goes all to my chest and makes me look like a chick. The main detraction from my workout has not really been the house, surprisingly. It's been work. I drive 1 hour each way to work and during work I'm too busy to get in a workout. After work I'm so friggen tired from the drive home that the last thing I feel like doing is working out. I just need to find a good balance right now, because with work, house, band, grad school, and some side work (programming and other)...it's become rough.

Took today off to take marlynn to the doctor and helen to the vet. Helen has some weird boil on her arm and it's kinda scary. Gotta run to that appointment now. p34c3.

It is true, the new house was cutting into my workout time, but no longer. I've hit my fatness setpoint I believe and I'm prepared for some hardcore dieting. By 3-site caliper measurements I'm ~15%, so I'm more like 18% at the moment and I look like a tub o' ****.

My weights are going to appear quite small starting off, but I'm easing my way back into things just so I don't hurt myself. Ok, I'm lying, I'm just really ****ing weak. Maybe I need some creatine.

When I was doing Arnold-style volume, it took me almost 2 weeks to really get past the shock of it and then start progressing. You could probably keep doing volume so long as you're willing to suffer for a little while.

Good that you're back lifting though. I have recent, firsthand experience about how life can bite you on the ass and slow down your lifting plans.

The soreness is coming on slowly, but I can tell this is going to be a rough couple of days. Happy to be back into it again though, I really feel much better today after working out yesterday.

Helen had to go in for surgery this morning, but she is without complication! Unless of course you consider $400 a complication. She had to have a tumor on her foreleg removed (yes, I said foreleg and not arm for you *******s). I also had her spayed while she was under in order to minimize her anesthesia time.

Initially I would do a bit higher rep/volume routine to get the muscle endurance built back up but as you progress I'd move away from that. I've had better progress by increasing the frequency of the workouts and hitting a bodypart more than once a week, in some form or fashion.

Well, I didn't get the washer as it rained last night, but I did catch up on some rest. Sleeping on no carb days is essential to maintain sanity. I think I lost about 1/2lb yesterday, just based on look and feel today. It would make sense since I estimated my deficit to be ~1750 calories. Today I shoot for maintenance, but I'm going to fall a little short. I am fine with that since it is still early on. Eventually I will aim for a higher amount of carbs.

Here are some post-surgery pictures of Helen!

.diet.

High day! High day!

· 6oz turkey, tortilla, 2oz oatmeal, peach, 1oz low-carb milk
· 8oz chicken, 3 foc
· 1 can tuna, 4oz oatmeal, 2oz berries, 2.5oz low-carb milk
· 8oz fat-free cottage cheese, splenda, cinammon, 2oz oatmeal, 2oz milk, 1 tbsp olive oil
· 2 servings isomatrix, 3 foc, 12oz low-carb milk

.supplements.

• mutli-vitamin, c, b, e, zinc, h.e.a.t.

.training.

I did some leg action today that made me want to throw up.

· smith machine front squat
85x6, 115x12, 115x12, 115x12
· calf-raise
13px12, 13px12, 13px12, 13px12
· leg curls
7px12, 7px12, 7px12
· leg extension
8px12, 8px12 , 8px12, 8px12

Alright, that was pleasant. I almost stopped short on the front squats, but I snapped to my senses about rep 8 and pushed forward to 12. It didn't seem to tax my legs as much as my core (abs, erectors, etc). However, when I moved to the leg extension, I saw how weak my legs had become.

Tomorrow I'll do arms/shoulders, but I'm skipping abs as they are extremely rocked. Until then..,

Thanks Justin. I feel good about getting back into it...I really missed feeling strong [relative]. And nothing's been said yet...

You should get one as a mascot!

It was and it allowed me to realign my goals. The problem would be that I wasted a ton of progress that could've been had in the meantime. I was very happy with my physique last winter and I really thought that this year would be monumental for my training, but I seem to have wasted half of it. The best I can hope for is to add about 10lbs by January of quality lbm. Thanks for still coming around!

Things are going well! Diet's been on track and I've had very few deviations from the plan. Tomorrow (high carb day) is the wedding, so I'll be ok to eat as I see fit there, assuming I watch myself the rest of the day. Based on calipers I've knocked 1% off this week, but I still look inhuman.

I've decided I want to look like Chase @ 200lbs, so since he's about my height, I'm aiming for that as a lifetime goal. **** him for getting there in a way shorter time frame.

.diet.

No carbs, no fun.

· 6oz turkey, 2 foc
· 8oz chicken, broccoli
· 1 package tuna, 2 foc
· 8oz fat-free cottage cheese, splenda, cinammon, broccoli
· 2 servings isomatrix, 2 foc

.supplements.

• mutli-vitamin, c, b, e, zinc, h.e.a.t.

.training.

Just because I'm weak, doesn't mean that I can't be a curl jockey.

[in no particular order]
· hammer curls
25x8:8, 40x12:12, 12:12
· partial preacher curls (slow)
45x12, 65x12
· reverse ez-bar curls
45x12, 12
· underhand tricep one-arm pressdowns
25x12:12, 45x12:12, 40x12:12
· rope pulldowns
100x12, 90x6->80x6
· lateral raises
15x12, 17.5x12, 20x12
· db shoulder press
25x12, 40x12, 40x12
· neck plate raises
35x12, 35x12, 35x12

Well that was a lot of volume. Good enough for ya will/call?

This workout felt amazing. I was motivated going in, didn't get tired, and I really felt I worked the muscles I was targeting. I am ashamed to say that I had a pump when I was done and I looked at myself in the mirror numerous times. :x My arm (although it lacks total definition, looked about 17" in our gym mirrors, which also give me a 6-pack at about 13%, heheh. I need to buy a set of those mirrors and carry them around with me and only let people look at me through them. Yeah...that's a plan.

Quick update. Took today off to let arms/shoulders fully recover. Today was a low carb day. My pressure washer rocks. Marlynn caught the bouquet and I caught the garter. I have to do a lot to prepare for Flesh Fest 2004 (http://home.comcast.net/~hollowmedia/chicken.jpg) - but it'll be worth it.
