Welcome to My Journal

In this journal I will include information about my diet, supplementation, training routine, sleep, and daily happenings in my life. I promise to update it every weekday without fail, I promise to never miss a workout and eat properly, and I promise to wash behind my ears.

Before you call this an ordinary journal, realize that I am the weakest person in the universe and I am starting from virtual scratch. My progression should be an inspiration to everyone on this friggen site.

My crappy beginning again routine. One set warmup, one set to failure, HIT style. This will be performed 2 times a week, by me.

Crappy Diet
I will post more on my crappy diet tomorrow when I have access.

I am going for a 40c/30f/30p diet where each meal is in balance to keep my insulin normal. Then I will have a postWorkout shake with about 50g protein, 75g dextrose, and 2.5g creatine. Yes I have creatine. Shut up.

Daily calories are around 2750 (+shake on workout days).

I use a multiVitamin, 2g's of Vitamin C - yo, a B-100 deal, and a Vit-E Supa-Dupa Complex.

I also own whey and some creatine monofriggenhydrate.

I was out of eggs today so I had to go for a standby meal. The calories were low, but I didn't want to grab more carbs on the way out. I saw the fiber one and figured it would be a good start. On the back of the box they showed a picture with blueberries and I was like "Whoah! Blueberries! I have them!" Damn this was a good tasting cereal...I did not expect that. I'll try to have more eggs for tomorrow, but I don't know if I am ready to lay yet.

This was my first real workout after a while. I had some stress and it's ridiculous how much muscle I've lost. I went from 8 chins with 35lbs to 8 with 5lb. Something is seriously wrong. The only difference here is I am not on a cutting diet right now. Since *adding* 1100 calories I've lost strength. I am like ass backwards. Maybe if I go down to like 100 calories a day, I'll hit 240lbs by the end of the year. Someone end my misery.

Front Squat
Warmup: 45lbs x8
Working: 75lbsx10
This was a very light weight but since this is the first time I've ever front squatted it was very awkward. I switched to backsquat because I didn't feel like re-adjusting my racks (pain in the ass) and ruining what could be a nice workout. My knees pop REALLY loud when my knees point out. When I tun my feet in a little it reduced to a soothing crackle. Anyhow, I just cleaned and pressed the weight onto me and then set it onto my safety racks when I was finished.

Shrugs ala trapBar

Working: 170lbsx12
My hands gave out today and 170 was pretty easy. I got the full ROM which was important. I need a mirror in my training room so I can see how unbelievably attractive I am (and my ROM, as a bonus). I can close the Captain of Crush #1 no problem, but I can't hold 170lbs for more than 12 reps? Come on! I didn't fail this time, but it was still a decent work set.

Dips
Warmup: BWx8
Workset: +5x12
The last time I did weighted dips was in July. I did +55lbsx8. Kill me. I started off low on purpose, but I should be able to do about 30 dips with that weight. I did 1 (full) second positives and 2 second negatives. It felt good.

Parallel Grip Chinups
Warmup: BWx8
Workset: +5x8
The last rep was very deliberate. I hit the top but I slowly lowered myself down (5-10 seconds) and it felt perfect. Now if I could figure out a way for these to work something other than my arms and shoulders...

Lateral Raises
Warmup: 5lbsx10
Workset: 15lbsx10
I love these guys! I go in the bathroom and stare in the mirror when I do them. It's nice to see all of the muscles in my shoulder flex on the way up. It feels great to be a pussy.

Incline Dumbell Press
Warmup: 15lbsx10 (I didn't feel like changing my dumbells, assface)
Workset:45lbsx11
I felt this in my triceps and shoulders especially. Stabilizing the weight after going to failure on other excersizes can be tough. I was happy with this set.

One Arm Dumbell Row
Warmup: 25lbsx8 (Why did I warmup?)
Workset: 45lbsx10 L,R
I used Belial's advice and focused on pulling my elbow up to my side and it really worked. I need a focus point like that for all of my excersizes. The 45lbs felt heavy at the end of the workout, but I kept my form.

It was a decent workout. I skipped my abs because I wanted to. I then drank an insane post workout drink which I'll detail at the rant. No goals as of yet, except 165 by October 31st.

III. Slumber
Daily Rating: *****
I feel asleep around 8:00 and woke about 9:00. Went back to bed around 11:00 and slept broken a few hours and then lulled into rest until 5:45. My alarm was set for 6:00 so I woke up every 3 minutes until 6:00 anticipating the "BWAA BWAA BWAA BWAA BWAA BWAA BWAA BWAA"
Total Sleep: 7-8 hours

IV. Daily Rant
I read on this site all about postworkout nutrition so I got excited. I drove 30 minutes out of my friggen way on the way home from work to get some dextrose from this wine joint. There is nothing near my apartment. I live in this friggen desolate run-down hick community. Why am I here? Maybe I am a desolate. Maybe I am a hick. I hate you. So I get the sugar and drive back to hicksburg and stop at a gas station to get orange juice (I live 15 minutes from a grocery store). $1.39 for 500mL of friggen orange juice. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? I payed $1.50 for 2 gallons last month and just to save myself 40 minutes of my precious time I pay $2.78 for a liter. So I workout and then make myself some of this magical juice. 1 liter of OJ, 75g of dextrose, 33g of protein, and 5g of creatine. I start drinking away and decide to go measure my bicep since it was the only thing I had time to measure a few weeks ago. 13.5"? Can that be right? At 155lbs I don't know. A few weeks ago it was 12.5" using the same measuring system. Anyhow, I drink this potion which is supposed to be nursed over 1.5 hours and is fabled to taste like an Orange Julius. News flash : IT DOESN'T TASTE LIKE AN ORANGE FRICKEN JULIUS. It tastes like ULTRA sweet orange juice with nasty vanilla whey powder floating in it. Screw my junk ass blender. So I go to meet up with my friends in a bigger town (20 minutes away) and nurse the orange delight all the way there (along with about 1.5 liters of water). I was extra careful not to spill it on my pants which happen to be fairly new and free of stain. I get to town and as I pull in to the parking lot I spill the **** all over my legs and hands. I will not elaborate on the explicit language that spewed from my mouth at that point.

Anyhow, 2 hours and 150g of sugar later my teeth have all fallen out and I begin to gum an order of buffalo chicken strips. It's amazing how tough it is to swallow unchewed chicken. After all is said and done I had a chocolate milkshake and went back to my girlfriend's house to go to sleep. That didn't work well. What I didn't anticipate is something that all should note and remember.

Thanks Mon*, I appreciate it. I will set up my strength goals after my workout this evening. I have no goals for tonight's workout except "Complete It." A few weeks ago I did some decent dippage (+55lbsx9) but somewhere along the lines I was very stressed and seemed to lose a lot of strength. That's disturbing. So I've decided to so with a slow, dramatic motion 2seconds +/- and I shall see if it can whip the llama's ass.

I think I am going to add lateral raises in there though because I like them. I will definitely keep it up. :)

Btw, the journal entries will probably mutate in form daily until I find a setup I am comfortable with.

Keep reading and keep posting comments. Otherwise I'll get bored and be forced to kill everyone.

Lots of fruit and breads...not too good for cutting for starters...Maybe splitting up the fat and carb meals may help also?

I am not cutting I am bulking. My calories are around 18xBW.

As explained in the preface to the section it is
serving foodname, calories, fat, carbs [fiber], protein.

The fruit I eat is blueberries and strawberries, which happen to be higher in fiber and very very high in minerals content. Two champions of fruit.

The breads I'd love to eliminate but it is pretty tough to do so. I picked the best possible breads I could find (Brownberry Whole Wheat and Pepridge Farms 9 grain) but that is not to say I wouldn't like to get rid of them completely.

I wouldn't. Carbs should be the foundation of any bulk. A case could be made for higher-GI stuff than you are using.

I went to bed at my girlfriend's house a little after midnight and woke up 6 times to piss. I got up around 6:45 and headed home.

Ok what the hell? I weighed myself and I am at 160. I was well hydrated before and no matter what time I weighed myself, it was still around 152-154. Creatine? Anyhow...I AM GETTING FAT. 2750 calories must be too high for my fragile metabolism. I did my caliper test and it is higher than it's been in a long time. I wish I could do some home-lipo surgery like that assface who cut up his own nipple. Anyway, I spent a long time cutting and I don't want to totally blow this bulk. Maybe I am just paranoid. I could be retaining some water. I am going to lower my calories to 2500 and try that. Bah. I'll lower the dinner calories tonight and start with a new plan for tomorrow. I think I am going to stay in tonight and sulk.

Actually, I think it looks like you're doing quite a good job, although if you are, in fact, putting on too much fat obviously you're right in taking things down a notch.

I went to bed at a whopping 11:00 last night and got up at 7:00! Problem was, my girlfriend couldn't sleep and moved me around 106 times during the night so it was broken sleep.

IV. Daily Rant
Oh boy...what a day.

It's about 10:00am and I decide it's time to drop the kids off at the pool. This is a daily ritual for me now that I've started my bulk and I've learned that when you have 50g of fiber for breakfast you tend to crap ridiculous amounts at any given time. So I go in the stall and shut the door and approach the bowl. Instead of being gleeful because it's time to poo, I look down to find there is a pubic hair resting right on the lip of the toilet...WHAT THE FÜCK? One perfect, prestine pubic hair is displayed right in the center for all to see. It looks like it was deliberately placed there for all to view. Was the owner of this pubic hair so proud of his trouser-fro that he had to leave a sample for others to ogle? Now, I am not squeemish about many things, but one thing I can not handle is to see another man's pubic hair, let alone one positioned about one inch from where my cock will be hanging for any length of time.
So I grab some toilet paper and some courage and I wipe the offending hair from the crapper. I throw the little bugger in the garbage and continue my ritual of wiping off everything in sight, especially that which will be within a few centimeters of rectal (or other) contact. I then reach up to grab a toilet cover and...
WHAM...a pubic hair falls from the seat cover holder and lands directly in the center of the water. At this point I am freaking out. What the fück was the previous occupant doing in the toilet that required his pubic hairs to be scattered around the bathroom as if it was Christmas time? One might ask, "How could one get so many pubic hairs trapped in their fingers BEFORE they used the seat covers?" So I flushed the toilet 18 times and wiped it down an extra 15 and then used 6 seat covers to protect my anus from any chance that another truant pubic hair might be introduced to my lower region. Do you know how hard it is to poop with the thought of another guy's pubic hair running rampant in your brain? Do you know the ill feelings that fill your head as your place of sanctuary is violated? Well, Do you?

This little story has birthed a new section of my journal.
Without further ado, I give you...*drum roll*

V. Thought of the Day (or week)
Pubic hairs are dangerous weapons. Thanks to the Brady bill it takes criminals many days before they can own a weapon but any idiot can own pubic hairs starting as early as 10 years old (or in my case 18). How responsible is a 10 year old to be able to possess such a device? Therefore - I propose a new idea for the government which I will be sending in a document called "The Galileo Prospectus." In this bill it will be stated that no one must be in possession of, or be party to, one who has pubic hairs without a full background check, minimum IQ verification, and a full course on bathroom etiquette.

This will eliminate the need for excessive cleansing and fits of vomitting that may occur from day to day. Thank you.

Let's not even discuss the taboo things that occured this weekend. Let's just say I didn't eat very well but I sure as hell drank to the best of my ability.

23 shots. This included vodka, whiskey, Parrot Bay (coconut rum), Rumpleman's peppermint schnapps, Jagermeister, and Bacardi 151.

I do know I licked an Asian girl, looked at porn while I puked, and was way too honest with a lot of people. I love alcohol.

Tomorrow I'll be officially 23 years closer to death. Wish me luck as I descend into the abyss.

I got in bed after the MTV VMA's last night which sucked. Guns n' Roses came on and I got all friggen excited then Axl SUCKED and it was a totally different band and they looked like friggen Marilyn Manson or some bullšhit. I wanted to shoot myself in the head. I would rather rememeber GNR as they were...ass kicking hair band who broke through to the 90's. So it's about 11:30 and I get to sleep. I wake up a few hours later to piss and I see my clock is blinking so I get up, go to the bathroom, look at the clock with my blurry eyes then come back and set the alarms. Turns out it was 2:30, not 1:30. So I wake up a bunch more (natural clock) and my body is like "get up" and my brain says "I don't have to, punk" then my body is like "You've slept the proper amount, bitch, get up" and my brain's like "Fück you, you fückin dick! I'll get up whenever the fück I want." The battle raged on for 10 minutes and my brain won. So I wake up 5 minutes before my alarm and just get up. So I go out and look at the clock and flip out and call my boss. I ran out of the house lookin like a mess but I ended up only being 30 minutes late and I got a bonus of an extra hour of sleep or so. Go me.

My girlfriend's friends suck. We're always making these group plans to do **** and they always end up cancelling the plans and inviting themselves over to my apartment to drink. They come over, get rowdy, jump off of my balcony, and guess who goes to jail? THIS GUY. It's not bad enough that they are so friggen inconsiderate to cancel long standing plans, but COME ON. I don't want to be drinking and all that bullshit so I get to stare at a bunch of intoxicated aššholes running around the house making fools of themselves without me. Bah. Well, now I get to go clean up my large apartment so I can entertain the kiddies. Wish me luck.

New Diet! I gained a little too much fat so I can only assume my calories were too high so I made this diet up for the week. The only problem is that I didn't gain any weight last week which kind of scares me. I do, however, need a new scale that is digital.

So as a synopsis: I am getting slighlty fatter, or at least holding more water. I think my body adjusted to the high calories, but I am afraid to up them anymore. So I do the most counter-intuitive thing I can, which would be to lower my calories by a little over 200 and see what I look like in 2 weeks. I am already 1lb ahead of my goal, so I should be OK. If I get rid of that 1lb of fat maybe I'll see where my problem is. 2lbs muscle, 1lb of fat...hmm.

People anger me. Almost every single day, mid-morning, I go to the lunch room to make my second meal. Simultaneously a signal that is inaudible to all but the fat and stupid rings out. Each day a different slob will approach me with the same exact question. "Breakfast?" Rather than do the smart thing and just say "Yes" I tell them something along the lines of "Meal number two." Of course this brings up a bunch of questions about my health and eating habits. My top 5 favorite responses thus far:

Then I get the pleasure of walking past our "health center" to find these tubs of lard walking on a Stairmaster for 5 minutes and nearly sweating to death. "What's so bad about that," you think? I JUST SAW THE SAME FÜCKING PERSON EATING A DOUGHNUT IN THEIR CUBICAL. This is why the fat stay fat and the dumb get dumber. As a society we're innundated with fallacies. People think they can "walk off" that donut and burn fat because they hit their "target heart rate" for 5 god-damned minutes. What did you have for breakfast, fat-ass? Let me guess...waffles? Toaster strüedels? Oh, lardy-love boat, is that candy in your cubical? Can I have a little piece? Here, in exchange I'll give you some of this QUIT BEING A BIG FÜCKING IDIOT. Just because you do your half-assed excersizing every single day doesn't mean you're healthy. Die.

Do any of the fat guys lift weights here? NO. You know why? They're afraid of bulking up. Do any of the girls lift weights here? NO. You guessed it. You know what makes it worse? We have a "personal fitness advisor" here at work. I'll call him "Brad." All 150lbs of "Brad" walks around telling people about what weights they should be using and how to properly execute a squat and bench press on the fücking Smith machine. Die.

nono, I am slowing it down because I have a big problem with estrogen based weight gain. Like the fat that I accumulate goes right to my ass and titties. ;)

I am going to slow down this week and see if I gain *any* weight so I better know where my caloric levels lie. I don't really want boobies right now. I am looking into some anti-e's to assist my bulk but I don't know what kind of hinderance they may be when I'm not on any other hormones.

Can nothing be sacred? I start to lift and right before my set of chinups my girlfriend comes in and starts flexing and trying to be cool. THEN. THEN. She sits down at my computer and starts minimizing all of my windows. BLEEEAAARRRRGG. I told her to get out and she pouted and left. Then she was mean for another 2 hours. Why are women so complex? Do I bother her when she's doing her girl things? No. So the rest of my workout all I could think about was her stupid ass flexing and how angry I was.

Anyhow, I am going to purchase and start some ALA for next week. From what I've read it seems to make a difference. I'll start at about 2g a day and probably about 1g with my post-workout dextrose shake. We'll see.

There is nothing worse than being bloated. I felt like absolute junk last night. I keep cutting back on my postWorkout shake because I am afraid of gaining too much fat. I seemed to have gained a decent amount in the last 3 weeks. I am hoping to keep the fat gain to a minimum in the coming weeks by being 100% clean. I think one of the big fück-ups was my party with all that alcohol. The second would be the chinese food. The third would be the 1 sundae I had. I AM A WEAK PATHETIC MORON. I SHALL NOT SUCCUMB TO MY FLAWS AS A HUMAN.
It's funny how crappy I look even @ such a low bodyweight. I weighed myself with clothing last night (like most non-weight lifting folks would) and I was 163lbs. I know it was water and clothing and food in the gut, but it felt good to see the scale look a little higher. Today was less of a rant than a more of a whine. Shut up.

I think I am trying to eliminate the "I took GH but all I got was this stinking protrusion" look. :)

The muscle that it works is called the transversus abdominis and it is what keeps your abs in tight. I was trying to figure out a way to do these with weights. Only thing I can imagine is getting your bellybutton pierced and hanging some plates from a carabiner ;)

We'll see how it works out.

I know exactly what happened. I did deadlifts 4 days ago. I just got a new training partner and I didn't want to discourage him with the front squats that I do and I figured the deadlift would be best for him. Well, it wasn't soon enough to recover my lower back so it tightened up on me. I'll take that advice and take some time :) There's nothing like a lower back injury. I can never get comfortable!

Ugh. The back is less painful today than yesterday. I am keeping up with my bulk hoping to heal my back a bit.

I am thinking about cutting for 4 weeks to try to get rid of this excess fat I put on. I probably will only end up about 3lbs heavier but I now know that my maintenance calories are a bit lower than I first suspected and I can probably bulk a lot cleaner.

I've decided to go on a cut for a few weeks to try to lower down the bodyfat I've accumulated. I'm up to 158lbs (up 6lbs) in 3 weeks every after lowering my calories to about 16.5*bw, so my guess is maintenance is pretty low. The mirror doesn't lie, so, I'm going to just take a few weeks to knock off some fat.

Please critique my diet. It's isocaloric in nature and I will be taking ALA along with it (300mg per meal) in hopes to speed up the fat burning. After a few weeks I will probably use the Yohimburn I bought to try to get rid of my man-boobs.

Please let me know your opinions. If I stop losing fat @ somepoint I'll engage in a refeed, CID style. I may even try some NHE if I wanna go sub 9%. I'll take pictures this weekend to see where I stand.

FYI...regarding lactose-free milk. the term "lactose-free" is misleading. the manufacture adds the lactase enzyme to milk so it pre-digests the lactose back into glucose and galactose. As far as I know there are no reduced carbohydrate milks available. but don't sweat the milk sugars as you are barely using any milk.

What'swrongwithmyorangejuicedextrosecrap?!?!? :) It was a post-workout experiment. I got the recipe from some site and it sounded good, but now I realize it was probably way too much fructose. Next time around I'll be going with a simpler dextrose+protein+water shake and just choke the fückin' thing down.

I couldn't get decent sunflower seeds @ teh store. I had to get roasted+salted ones which were roasted in partially hydrog'd oil. It was either that or Planter's *shiver*. I won't eat a seed that reminds me of a wart.

You made it messy so you should have to deal with it." ) WELL YOU'RE WRONG. I have the world's most messy girlfriend and two horrible horrible cats. One fücks up my bathroom the other goes to the bathroom on the floor. I can't win. Anyhow, my training partner comes over and works out as I watch and help. I hate injuries. I was so looking forward to breaking the +50lbs mark on my dips today but nOooOOOOOooo. I have to be a friggen gimp. I get a shower, deduct $50 I don't have out of the bank and head to the movies with my friends. One of the girls in the crew insists we see the intenso-rific ultra-thriller "SwimFan." Garrrr-bage. Number one there is essentially no character development in the whole movie. You know two things. The swim guy is a dickhead ex-con and the chick is a psycho. Then you're supposed to feel sorry for the douche-bag after he cheats on his super-nice girlfriend with a FAT BITCH. She looks like a cross between Julia Stiles, Shakira, and my cousin Lindsay. Nizasty. They keep doing these weird "double-take" shots everytime he says something cruel to the psycho. The end was the best...THE SWIM FAN DROWNS. HOW LAME. The best part about this movie was - it was only like 75 minutes long. I was in @ 8:00 and out at 9:25. I'd go into more detail on how bad it sucks, but really, it was so thin that it wasn't worth it.

So I go to Wal*Mart to buy some groceries for my cut. I think to myself "It's almost midnight, there won't be too many people." Wrong. They were restocking shelves and the inbred employees who could barely read let alone conversate didn't understand simple terms like "excuse me" and "get the fück out of my way before I knock out your last tooth." After appropriating the proper items I head to the cash register. NO ONE THERE. 40 fücking registers and not one employee working. Finally, I got someone to open one and by the time I got back to it I had to battle with 20 more people to get in line. What the hell? It's 12:15 in the morning and I have to deal with this šhit? Bah. So the lady rings me up and then realizes she has no paper for the receipt machine. I payed with credit card, which leaves me having to stand another 15 minutes until her fat, lazy ass finds someone smart enough to put a roll in the damned printer and shut the lid.

Did you ever wonder why all the stupid people are concentrated in one area? Ever wonder why that area is Western Pennsylvania? Me too. What a coincidence.

On a side note: When did Christina Aguilera turn black? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but at the MTV VMA's she was all like "Mmm hmmm girlfriend." She went to highschool in one of my neighboring districts. A lot of the friends that I went to college with went there with her. Their report: She was the dirtiest, smelliest girl in the class, she had a huge ego and always tried to make everyone feel less than her, and she was very well hated by all. Fun, huh?

Today is the day I start my cutting diet. The more I look at it, the more I think that my calories won't be low enough. I will shoot for 1900 for now and lower as I need. I like starting my new diets on Tuesday's. Why? Because Mondays usually suck for one reason or another and I end up having something go on that screws up the diet. Magnesium really helps me with this. I take about 400mg(and sometimes even 800mg) prior to bed. That's why ZMA helps some people sleep more soundly.

Hella cool, thanks. I planned on picking up some magnesium a while ago but never did. I think a lot of it had to do with the temperature flux throughout the night, but it's been a long time since I've had a solid night sleep.

Day two and everything is running Ok. I had to make some adjustments to my diet today because I ran out of cheap eggs for my egg whites. Then I screwed up and had my flax oil late, which is a bigger calorie deficit for the day.

I find that I am not hungry at all right now, so my meals are spaced well. If I don't lose any weight/fat this week though I will lower my calories by 100 next week. I know my metabolism is slower, but I have yet to really find my maintenance calories. I lost fat pretty easy last time, but I went from 1900->1400 calories over the course of six weeks.

At anything higher than 10% I get man-boobies. I want to get down to the point where I don't and stay there a while in the hopes that my nipples will "fix" themselves (like how skin gets tighter when you slowly lose weight). At 12% my chest looks horrible. All of my friends are ridiculously lean so I get a distorted self-image. Then I see folks like G² and I want to jump out of a moving vehicle.

I went from 152->159 dry morning weight too quick. I think I raised my calories too fast for one and I don't think the training program I was doing was conducive to mass gain. I am going to continue doing a HIT style while I cut and then at the end of my cut I will switch to HST. I should be more aware of my maxes by then and hopefully my bulk will be a lot better this time around. I made some mistakes like cheat-days, which I find are destructive during a bulk, drinking a LOT of alcohol for my birthday (read: puke puke puke), and not always having my meals available. The next time I'll make more intelligent decisions.

My problem is : I am very aware of all the nutritional mumbo-jumbo and how to eat properly and all, but my body happens to disagree with some of it :) I have a slower metabolism than I'd like and I think that can be an advantage sometimes, but I need to take that into consideration.

Ok this was better than before, but it still sucks. I fell asleep on the futon about 6:30 and got up at 8:15. I decided to then go to the store and pick me up some eggs for breakfast. I get back, shower, go to bed about 11:00. 11:45 rolls around and I fall asleep. At 1:30 there is a huge storm and the power goes off and on. The fire-alarm in my room goes all crazy and wakes me up. I fall back asleep after another painful 15 minutes of staring at the ceiling. I woke up about 4:00am from a bad dream which resulted in me being totally pissed off. I fall back asleep and go right back into the bad dream. Why is that? Why can I never fall back asleep and keep dreaming about girls with tight boxes that grip what I push with their eager bossoms in hand? NoooOOOooo. But when I have a dream about ass-raping midget dinosaur professional-wrestelers (pronounced "rasslers") it's right back into hell as soon as my eyes are closed.

So, the restauant I visit frequently decided it would be a brilliant idea to put a glass cage around the smoking section to protect the non-smoking people from the harmful death-gas. Now I get the pleasure of be trapped in hell much like a mime while my friends' cigarette smoke dances in my lungs like the sprites of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Ohh....My transparent tomb. For today I have a case of the megrims and this foggy pall of smoke will be the death of me.

I didn't really want the extra carbs and I'd prefer a slower digesting protein. I've read some crappy things from Lyle McDonald about using whey at any other time but post workout. Since I had post-workout whey, my protein was fine for the day. I gotta get to the store today before I have a bad diet day.

I guess my thinking was to get the protein in as fast as possible since I've come off a miny fast over night. I know Lyle knows alot more about this than I and I know I should do some more research on my food intact. :cool: :cool:

I hear where you're coming from. I have a few reasons for not liking whey:
1. If I don't take it everyday, it upsets my stomach.
2. It absorbs too quick for a typical meal.
3. The low sugar stuff tastes like ass compared to even tuna.

So, I'd just assume with tasty sugar-free yogurt ;) BTW: I got new tuna today (decided to try Bumble Bee). HOLY CRAP. This whips the horses behind with a belt. Starkist has nothing on this mofo.

FYI: Carbs will stop overnight catabolism pretty fast. Plus, your amino acid pool will be replenished by a somewhat low amount of protein as well.

So I'm driving to town after my workout and I see a vast sea of brake lights flooding the highway for a few miles ahead. Of course, when I'm in a hurry, anything that could possibly happen to make me late, generally does. As I crawl along the highway at a healthy clip of (...) 10 miles per hour some dick pushes his way into my lane. I had to resort to skillful NASCAR like tactics to avert the danger of hitting this asswipe. He had one of those numbers on the back of his ride like he worked somewhere special, so I called the number from my cell phone and was like "Hello. Driver A83360 is a total *******. He cut me off on the highway while there was an accident on the road and he nearly caused additional fatalies with his assholocity." The woman who answered was like "Oh, I'm very sorry sir!" Then I was like "Well, you shouldn't be sorry. But I know that good old number A83360 is going to be really sorry when I follow him until he stops, pull him out of his car, then beat him to death with a tire iron." Silence on the other end. Then she hangs up. Chalk one up for street justice.

Ok so I get to the scene of the accident. Let me set this up a little bit so you get a better idea. Where I live most of the highways were "cut out" of hilly mountain-like places. So the highway sits down inbetween rock like so : \__/. Well this guy apparently thought it would be a great idea to drive his car up one of these mountains. His mid-nineties Chevy Blazer now lays on its top with all 7 window sites totally shattered and the body damaged beyond repair. For this he wins...*trumpet music* Douche Bag of the Year! *pause for applause*. Apparently the DBOTY was some sort of fücking genius. Sure, I can make it up a 60 degree incline with my crappy truck. "I reckon I've seen it on TV a hundred times." Well as much as this amuses me the thing that really pissed me off was...THERE WAS NOTHING BLOCKING THE ROADS. Nothing. The 500 *******s in front of me just figured they'd drive by as slow as possible so they could see the wreck. They even had a fireman on the side trying to get people to speed the hell up. People suck at driving.

People should need to take a driving test every 5 years. This should be compliments of the state. If you drive like a douche bag, then *yoink*, there goes your license, assface.

Today was my first attempt at putting a band together. Essentially I got my friends that played instruments (or said they did) and we played for a while. Synopsis: We need a lot of work. I pretty much had to write the guitar, bass, drums, and vocals for the first[only] 2 songs we worked on. So as I was leaving we shuffled around cars and moved equipment. I had left my Jetta at the other guitarist's house until we got finished (20 minute drive back to town). So we go to his house and I notice my keys are missing. Ok, cool, I left them in my friend's car. We go to the restaraunt and all sit for a while. When it's time to go I check my friend's car and the keys aren't in there. Fück me. I had to drive all the way back to the guy's house we practiced at (20 minute drive, again) and hope my keys were there. At this point it was pouring down raining and I ended up searching the ground in the pitch black for 15 minutes trying to find my keys. Finally, I found them in a huge tuft of grass. So we drive BACK to town, soaking sopping wet, and I get my car. Then...I get to drive another 25 minutes down to my apartment. Can you see the pattern? I get home really late and had to get up early to shower and make my lunch.

Good news though! BW+100lbs dip!! Technically speaking, that's a dip of 263lbs @ 155lb (dry)bodyweight (the belt weighs 3lbs, +100lbs + I weighed myself before hand. The best part...I started training again when I started this journal. If I stick with this, maybe I'll hit the double bodyweight dip someday!

I can't wait to hear all of the people teling me I didn't do it.

I had a lot to bitch about but I don't care too much anymore. I'll tell you a little about MeatFest.

MeatFest is an event that my friends have where we get a ton of animal products and grill and drink and play games and enjoy life. We bought a ton of steak (which I don't eat) and chicken (which I can!) and grilled all day and night. It was a pretty cool event and a lot of people showed up.

There are three cooks that work at a local restaraunt and two need to be on duty at all times. Well the guy who organized MeatFest invited the one cook who was our friend to MF. The other two cooks were there so he thought he would be nice and invite them too. Well the one calls off immediately and leaves the cool one to have to work that night. Bummer. Well it gets worse. The dude gets to the party and no one really sees much of him. Then, all of a sudden he comes down to the grill area totally smashed. We cut him off and he starts getting stupid. He is tackling girls and being a douche-bag. He can barely walk and the dude starts trying to climb a tree. I grab him and yank him out of the tree and in call him a stupid mahfucker. I have pictures of him after being yanked out of the tree (maybe I'll scan and upload later). Finally we put him in a chair I tell him that if he fücking moves from that chair I'm going to beat the fück out of him. I even put on my "angry voice" to let him know I meant bidness. So I wander elsewhere a moment and he gets up to get a coke. Instead of going back to his chair he sits down on the cooler and no one can get to the hard liquor. Well I get back and people are yelling at him and he isn't even flinching. Finally one of the larger guys there gets behind him and smacks him in the face (which I have a picture of). The kid takes off running to the neighbor's shed and cries for two hours. Two hours.I didn't even know the body could produce that many tears. It was one of those sad/funny moments where you felt bad but knew the kid deserved it. He's lucky no one was on a whiskey bender.

Then there is one of our good friends...
She is about 115 soaking wet and she took about 7 shots of tequila. Now, she is totally messed and starts crying about how fat she is. All night long she sat in the bathroom and cried about being fat. She's not even close to chubby let alone "fat." She kept trying to show us her boobs, but we told her not to so she'd save a little dignity. She took that as "I'm fat and ugly and no one wants to see my ugly-fat body." Oh man.

I was hoping for more out of the weekend, but when you help organize a party you tend to have to babysit the morons. Oh well, I guess that's that.

Only 4 weeks left on my cut. I gotta kick it up a notch.

Cutting Diet: Day 15 of 42

It's official. Today is the start of my final four weeks of the cut. If I want to be successful I need to be very dedicated to my diet plan or get a better diet plan. I didn't lose weight last week and I only lost a small amount from my caliper pinches. Not sure why, but I think this weekend may have had something to do with it. I am going to keep on my guns this week, do a tiny amount of aerobic activity and see if I make any progress. If not, I'll lower my calories and try another week. I am thinking the idea of a refeed assumes you are about 1000 calories under maintenance. That's about 1400 calories for me. I'd probably rather do cardio on my non-workout days than eat that low. One variable at a time though. If all else fails, the last two weeks I'll use some ECA or NYC.

Note: I've replaced my salad/dressing with oatmeal. I love oatmeal. From all I've seen and heard it's one of the best carbs you can ingest, so why not? I eat it 3 times a day. One time a day I even eat it raw and swallow it down with water. Too much hassle to cook .6oz of oatmeal, yo.

I hate living in an apartment...

I came home last night (unaware of the time) and applied some of that burning crap on my chest. I decided it was a good idea to do some rope skipping. Apparently my downstairs neighbor did not concur. I got the age-old "tap the broom handle on the ceiling" trick. She must not have appreciated the repeated jumping at 11:30pm. So I quit. I'm not the kind of guy who will go out of his way to piss people off. Ok, well I am, but not my neighbors who can kick in my car doors when I'm not paying attention. I hate living in an apartment.
Besides having the problem of neighbors, I have a tiny workout area. I had to pay big bucks for the smallest equipment I could get. Couple that with needing storage for other junk plus my girlfriend wanting to move in and you have a 2 bedroom apartment with no room for anything. It's not like I don't pay too much for it anyway. Living near a college inflates things without justification. I mean, it's a nice apartment, but not worth the discomforts. So now I realize I have no way of doing the cardio I want to do, short of going in the parking lot. I don't want to run and I don't have immediate access to any cardio machines. I don't want to cut my calories any further through diet so now I get to figure it out.

Things are always difficult. Today, instead of getting to do my long awaited leg workout, I get to haul a washer/dryer up two flights of steep stairs to my apartment then try to squeeze them into my tiny bathroom. They're free, at least, but I do not feel like carrying the damned things. Oh well, as is life. Teh suck.

Suprisingly well. I measured a horizontal nipple pinch on monday and it was 14mm, this morning it was 12mm. Now, considering I am retaining water from the Yohimbine, so I'm gonna have to say it's working pretty well. I will be using Thiomucase on saturday/sunday so I'll be able to really tell where I stand.

Thanks guys. If I were to post elsewhere I would have to majorly censor myself, which I'm not about to do.

I am pretty pleased with some of my progress, but as you know, can never be satisfied compeltely.

On that note, I measured my boob again this morning. Down to 11mm. That's about 1mm down per day. I pinch it flat like a pancake and measure right behind the nipple. Since this is working so well I am almost totally convinced it is an estrogen issue. I'm wondering if an anti-e would do me some good for a short period.

I may be lowering my calories slightly for next week as well. I weighed myself this morning and I was at 158, which is pretty much where I started, yet I've lost a good bit off of my caliper pinches. I can only assume I have some water retention from the Yohimburn and ALA.

Holy šhit what a crap ass weekend. I bought a brand new, 2002 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T this January. Nice car, relatively expensive. It's been in the shop 5 times now for different problems. What the hell? You pay nearly $25k for a car and it should not be in the shop that often.

I have to go to this awards ceremony thing for work which is at the main building, so I drive over and sit down. They are serving hotdogs, hamburgers, and cake. None of which, I'll eat. So I sit through this horrible event and finally get to leave to go back to the car. It's a little hot inside so I roll down both windows and I hear "clink, thud." No, I didn't just unzip my pants, my driver window fell into my door. I am about 1 hour away from my dealer so I can't get up there in time for them to fix it so I have to arrange to leave it. So I drive 30 minutes back home, on the highway, going 90. The wind is pretty bad to start with, augmented with my faster than usual pace and no driver window, and you get one pissed off guy. By the time I get out of the car I look like a $20 hooker at the end of her shift . So I turn over my car and find out they can't get it back to me until Monday. Great, so now I get to take a vacation day from work in order to get my damned window fixed. Wonderfuckinful.

So now I'm bound to my girlfriend until Monday night when I can get my car back, which means the places I get to go will be determined by her Hitler-esque judgement. Lovely.

So I go out and we watch the movie "Red Dragon." I expected some gruesome, evil flick. Nope. It's more of a "feel bad for this guy" movie. The best part about the whole movie was the blind whore. She was whoring around the whole movie. Did she limit herself to just whoring around with people? NoooOoOOOo! She felt a Tiger's nutsack! HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT?!?! You can't. The movie lacked character development, which is an important part of any psychological thriller. If you don't understand the murderer then he is just some nut-bag killing people. The scary part is when you know why he is all nuts. You got about a 2 minute view of how he was abused as a child. I think they should have had about 1 hour and 45 minutes of the blind chick performing fellatio on the tiger and about 15 minutes of Anthony Hopkins eating people. Then you'd have a movie with the Galileo Seal of Approval.

I'm considering supplementing with ECA, NYC, or DN...er nevermind. Anyone feel strongly toward one or the other? I want to make sure my last two weeks of fat loss are optimal.

I refuse to get fat when I'm old. I walked into the bathroom, where most interesting things seem to take place, and I saw a guy taking a leak at the urinal. He was so fat that he had to reach around and under his gut to actually steady his schlonkey (psst, thanks for the word Gyno). If I ever get that obese I want to be shot with animal tranquillizers, wrestled to the ground (Brazillian JuJitsu style), and killed with tweezers and sporks from KFC.

My motivation levels were shot for a few days but now I'm back and ready to go. It seems like if I oversleep I feel like crap and don't really care about much.

As soon as my cut it over I will be starting a new journal with some new features! I know you're all wincing in anticipation, but you will have to wait!

Galileo, I was just telling my girl the same thing the other night. We were out at the movies and this guy was walking out of the bathroom.

I happen to catch him and the "GUT" out of the corner of my eye. I slightly turned my head as I stood in line waiting for the salty and butter filled popcorn that I was buying for my girlfriend.

As he walked outta the doorway he hiked up his pants and then tussled with his shirt and then it happened....he went to war with the "GUT!" His arms turned into a vice grip and the "GUT" became the liquid element of the T2000.

He was trying to pull up his zipper on his pants. His hands must have memorized a strategic route to the zipper...they to have seen this battle before. His arms and hands new they were destined for trouble because the eyes couldn't lead the way. The "GUT" acted as a force field or a protection device fighting away the evil of the arms. The arms moved in and the "GUT" pushed out, battle went on and on.

I was stuck in shear amazement of the trouble that he was having. I inched up in line without even taking my eyes off of this circus side show.

As soon as he found the lip of the zipper he had to jump and do the Chubby Checker twist to get it up. I followed his movements closely turning my head from side to side as a dog does when watching something strange.

I thought to myself, I never in life want to go through that much trouble just to zip up my pants. That 30 seconds he endures everytime he leaves the bathroom must be the hardest cardio he has ever encountered

He's there. He made up some lame excuse about why he didn't call and all that bullshit. Why couldn't he just call and tell me? What's so friggen hard about telling someone you can't come? If he didn't want to workout with me anymore, that's fine. I'll find someone else to lift with, no bif deal. But why do people feel the need to hide, lie, rationalize, club seals, and generally be a bitch?

I hate people who involve their lives fully in the occult. Some guy approached my friends and was like "You guys look like you're part of some subculture. Are you?" We were like..."Uh, yeah, sure." Then of course, a member the lower echelon in the group spouts out "Satanism." HA HA HA. SO FRICKEN FUNNY. God people piss me off. So this dude tells us he is a "paranormal researcher" but when asked questions about his craft he had half-answers, conjecture (which is all you can really have), and his ignorance was shining FULL BLAST BABY! Finally, he wrapped up with asking us to come to "Goth Night" at the local club. I took two steps for the door, grabbed a butter knife from the table and began to disembowel myself before the effects of his words fully absorbed into my cranium. As I lay there in a pool of my own entrails, I noticed a bright beam of white light at the end of a long tunnel. The light told me that I needed to return to Earth, because I had a mission in life. I think I must be carrying some extra thigh weight. It's often hard to pinch it and it's a bit thicker than I'd like. More of that estrogen based fat, I'm guessing.

Exactly what I did earlier this year. I reread the first 3 and I was thankful I did. The story becomes much "fuller" after you read it again. I'll probably read it another time after I finish Wizard. My next king book is going to be Insomnia. After that I plan on reading Red Dragon.

Any advice would be appreciated. I kind of like the diet I am currently using, so I'd rather select from 2-4.

Around 1/2" to the right of my button-hole. I pinch then put the caliper at the middle of the curve. The more I do it the more I realize that it's probably pretty inaccurate, but I am worried more about consistency at this point. I have become quite consistent with my caliper pinches so I can recognize the changes.

I'm guessing that an increase may not be indicitive of a real increase. It seems to me that some of my sites regularly go up and down a bit independently of each other. I usually look for an overall downward trend from all the sites together. It seems that sometimes, you are just able to grab with the calipers slightly more some weeks just be for there is another drop. It's sort of what I have been experiencing.

Be that as it may and seeing as you asked, your calories seem fine to me, I wouldn't go much lower then 1800-1900kcals. If your energy levels are fine, then I'd suggest the cardio, first thing in the morning. I don't tend to go for cardio because I hate cardio so I always go for EC first.

It gets hot in my training room, so sometimes I'll find myself in just boxer shorts working out. I work out at home so every girl in the place wants me. Bad.

12 * 155 = 1860 calories
(15 * 155 ) - 1000 = 1325 calories

Target: 1600 calories

I'd like to hit somewhere between there using cardio about 3x week. I'm sure I'll hit up some EC (try to get some real ephedra) and start on that before too long. I'll keep eating a little under 1900 and try to use some cardio to create a deficit on non-workout days. I'll probably end up refeeding as well, but only when I find myself crazy-hungry.

I don't think it's a lot of ALA. I've taken up to 3g/day depending on carb intake. I feel comfortable at 10mg/1g carbs, so I take one 300mg with each meal.

The thing that sucks is the mood swings. One minute I'm stressed, then tired, then wired, then thrilled, then pissy, etc. EC may very well be PMS in a bottle.

I prepared for my refeed today. I went to the store and picked up loads of fat-free cookies and cakes. Mmmm. I'm going to be very calculated about this refeed because I know it's important not to fück it all up. I plan on picking up some bananas friday and actually doing the refeed all day on saturday. A blessed day it shall be! I'm wondering if I should take my ALA that day or if it would half-defeat the purpose? I mean, you want the glycogen spill-over to fat cells, that's the point, so it's probably best not to take it. I'll figure it out.

Not really a lot. I take a normal dosage of ECA and the yohimburn is specfically for my boobies. The ALA is a good anti-oxidant, but I'm not 100% sold on it's nutrient partitioning effects. I will say, however, that this cut has been way more successful than my previous one and that was one of the main variables.

i've been holding water like crazy the past 2 weeks. at least i'm hoping it's water. more carbs than usual, but i've been doign more cardio then usual too. i hope it's not real live fat. i'm glad i'm the only one that gets throughly sick after bingeing (or refeeding).

It's the day after my refeed and my carb cravings haven't left. I am considering extending it because most places I've read said a 2 day refeed is better at low bodyfat levels. After I make myself sick today I'm sure I'll be thrilled to eat clean all week.

Hey galileo, I just noticed that you do front squats. Have you had/are you having some back problems? Are you doing back squats as well? I think I am going to give front squats a very light tryout next leg day. They should help to keep me more upright.

I have a chronic compression in my L5/S1 disc. When I do front squats it seems like the compression doesn't occur, but as soon as I do back squats with any kind of weight it comes right back. So I try to alternate them every other week to try to strengthen my lower back and keep applying gradual pressure. A warning: front squats are a pain to do. I had to practice to get the proper form down and with any bit of weight I lean forward too much. Good luck with them.

Excellent. Charlie was the train in the book Jake bought at the Tower book store.

Yeah, I'll be going color. I'm not too much of a "sun" guy, so I'll probably be able to limit my touch-ups to once a year.

I have always dreamed about trains. Even when I was little. I don't know exactly why, but I have this subconscious fascination with them. It just seemed "right" as my first piece. I'm going to wait until I gain some size back before I go for it. I'd rather not have whatever I get done stretch out before I can enjoy it.

Woot! I was tired as a mahfucka coming in but I pulled through the workout like a champ. I'll just say I'm very very pleased with my bench. As soon as I start over eating again I'm hoping it'll skyrocket. One of my big goals in life when I was 16 was to press 185 for reps. I can definitely do a few now. According to The One-Rep Max Fückin' Calculator (http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html) it looks like about 6 reps. Next week I shall shoot for 180x8 because I struggled on my last rep this week. At the end of my cut I should be at 185 for 8 if my strength continues to grow.

How unfair is this! I come in here and find a WHOLE CONVERSATION on one of my favorite "un-serious" books/series! I missed it! Goddamn my luck :).

That said, book V is supposedly coming out this spring, book VI later that year (he's completed both already) and book VII soon after (he's almost finished writing it now).
