Started doing front squats for the first time for this traing cycle, hit my beginning goal of building up to 225 for working weight. I'll max in about 5 weeks. Feel free to critique my form as i'm not the most experienced at front squats. Did 5x3 with 225 today..

225 x 3 (First set) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=OwoIzMBxNSw

225 x 3 (Last set, belted) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=Pt9x-b2K1R8

185 x 10 - http://youtube.com/watch?v=E54qx5H1uCo

Nice work Kev!! I wish I could critique.. I'm not an expert.. but the form & depth looked good and you kept your knees solidly together .. plus the Chuck's were cool.. I love them too.

2 questions:
Have you tried them with a board under your heels?
How about jacking those wrists back OL style?

solid form, nice and deep. try a clean grip :D, after a while of getting used to it, u'll like it better.

Nice, depth looked good and the reps looked smooth. I dunno about a clean grip, try it I guess.

Bearwolf - My wrists dont bend that far and it also hurts my elbows.

Bohizzle - see above.

WBBIRL - thanks man.

nhlfan - Thanks man i'm tryin

Sidior - I dont know man, i'm probably gonna give front squats a run for a while. They are definitelly harder than back squats, I can get deeper with them, and I overall just really like them more. I'll definitelly go back to back squats at some point though and see how front squats will have benefited them.

Anthony - Only way to do em man!

I didn't find front squats have benefitted my squat at all, they made my quads look great though! GHR's added more to my squat :(

I've just started doing these. DAMN! You sure make it look easier than I found my measly triple with 115 ...

I fake 'em of a lat pull down station, the girly ones that have the knee supports to keep little guys flying off the machine :). Only problem is you can't judge progress, because you have to push off the ground to get back to verticle.

Built - 115 for a triple is freakin awesome, i'm not where I wanna be yet.

Risk - Not a bad idea.
