how long is rice good for if i make a batch and store in the refridgerator?

reason i ask is...i bought brown rice...not knowing that it takes 35 minutes for brown rice to cook. so id like to make the whole bag of rice and just store what i dont use.

anyone ever done this? ALSO...what kind of rice do you guys recommend that is both healthy for you, and DOES NOT take 35 minutes to cook?

I wouldn't make the whole bag at once. When I cook rice, I usually cook enough for 4-5 days. I don't like leaving anything in the fridge for a whole week.

Brown rice is health more then white in a way. Me and my friends normally cook enough for a weeks time. I say 1 to 2 weeks tops.

i never leave rice in the fridge more then 3 days.I've had bad experience from eating one week old rice.

Freeze it! Divvy it up into perfect portion sizes and throw it in the freezer. If you grab it for work in the AM it should be thawed by lunch time.
