Anyone here know of any supplements/foods whatever that are good to get a good energy boost?
I've recently started working out late at night (like 9-10 pm) because it actually helps me fall asleep, only thing that really can calm me down after a long day of schoolwork.
Are there any things that you guys take (obviously besides caffeine) before you workout that gives a bit of an energy boost, that isn't long lasting?
Decaf green tea is helping, (it may just be a placebo, but it seems to be helping).

I take green tea extract (22% caffeine) but it works fine and there are other ingredients as well. I take NOW's "Energy" pills.

How about a carb-a-licious meal? Chow down on some carbs before you go and bring a dextrose/protein shake with you to drink whike you're working out.

There are no real good effective "different" short-term stims (aside from the illicit kind) Stims before you sleep can disrupt your sleep quality.
If you do take stims before you sleep.. try 5-HTP/ZMA/B-Complex stack.
It's quite calming.

Narcolepsy Pharmas typically aren't habit-forming and usually aren't scheduled.

Modafinil (I think this one is scheduled now... although can still be found fairly easily. It is quite pricy though.. and tolerance builds quickly with daily usage. I recommend this one be cycled or restricted to acute use)

Adrafinil (Precursor to Modafinil. Take 2x as much as you would modafinil.(normal provigil/modafinil dose is 200mg, so for adrafinil you'd use 400mg ACUTE USE ONLY. Consider NAC / Milk Thistle Liver protectants.)

"Nutritional" Supplements.

Stimulant X / Spike - The main active in these are forms of thiamine (Vitamin B1) that can cross the BBB (Bloodbrain Barrier) such as Thiamine Disulfide/Trisulfide, Ethyl Ester or Butyrate or Subalbutiamine (I think this can be sourced individually). Search pubmed for thiamine disulfide/trisulfide or subalbutiamine for some interesting abstracts.

I prefer StimX over Spike because it's "time released" seems to last longer and doesn't make you crash as hard as spike does.

Tolerance builds quickly with chronic use and like any stim. if you got heart problems go away:

These are the best I've found as far as mental/motivational/stay awake stims.

If you use any thiamine analogue energy product... I recommend cycling.

"Narcotic Pharmas" or "Uppers"

Dextroamphetamine (Adderall/Dexedrine) - Yeah... this is scheduled... good luck trying to get it. Addictive, Habit-forming, short half-life etc etc.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin/Concerta) - Good luck trying to get this too although it is easier to find in NROPs than the former. Addictive, Habit-forming, tolerance builds quickly, short half-life.

Old Standby's

Green Tea Extract - Better than Coffee/Straight up Caffiene cuz of anti-oxidants and L-theanine.

Coffee/Caffeiene/Most other Xanthines(Guarana, what have you.) - Good acutely, self-defeating in the long run. adenosine inhibition isn't the most efficient way to increase dopamine. but perhaps the most convenient and easiest legal way

Support Supps:

I recommend a Tyrosine supp of some kind maybe once weekly to replenish catecholamines if you abuse/use stims excessively.
