There was a guy from the Guiness book of World records, going back to the 70's and 80's. The picture was of an enormous guy deadlifting about 1000lbs. I beleive his first name was Paul.
Anyone know more?

Paul Anderson. All though 1000lbs deadlift looks about double body weight for him.

Yes, probably Paul Anderson. But take most of the lifts credited to him with a grain of salt. He was incredibly strong. But at the same time his lifts have grown over the years if you know what I mean.

I've heard he is the strongest man that has ever lived, is that true?

No, but he was probably the strongest man of his day. He may have been the strongest ever in certain lifts, too.

I heard he once jumped so high that he reached outer space, and he pushed the moon because the solar eclipse was ruining his tan.

Oh wait, that was Chuck Norris.
