I've heard and read alot of things about protein and how it can lead to kidney damage and osteoporosis, so I'm just wondering.... really, how safe is it?

It seems like everything contradicts itself........ one article says its good for you and the next says it isn't

Protein is very good for you. It wil not cause serious problems for your body if taken properly.
And try to keep only 1 cook in the kitchen.
Some one told me to never have alot of cooks in the kitchen, what does that mean. Try to have 1 person you trust and know is a good bodybuilder to provide you with information, its not good to take advice from a number of people for it can mess up your routine, just like in a kitchen, if u too many cooks, your food will get messed up.
HOPE this helps.

Most of those claims dealt with people who already had kidney problems. It would also take a hell of a lot of protein to cause any damage to a healthy person. An amount that we probably wouldn't be able to consume daily.
