What are the world records for some of the major lifts? I tried to find some in a search engine but i have pulled up anything that makes any sense. I am just curious what the greatest numbers lifters have achieved.

www.google.com is your friend. And I think it goes by different federation and with different rules on shirts/suits

Every federation has it's own records. Check the main page of whatever federation you're wondering about... Records are usually kept there.

Overall all-time records equipped are ~1,220 squat (Mike Miller), 1,008 bench (Gene Rychlak), 1,010 deadlift (Andy Bolton). Seems to change about every 3 months, though.

I think Powerlifting Watch has the best compilation:

Wow, it's crazy to see the bench and deadlift records so close. Gotta love triple ply shirts :p
