What's up boys? I'm new to the forum, obviously. I train with VDizenzo, not because I like him, but because he needs me. I'll be posting my training log here. I appreciate any helpful comments. If you have questions about my log, let me know. Hopefully I can help. Good to be here.

I'm 6'4" and when I compete I'm around 300-310. I actually look more like a bloated volleyball player without backne. I have some pics. I'll post them when I get a chance. Drew is a child molester and he's gay, BTW.

Also, I just ate a corn muffin in 34 seconds. Don't ask why I timed it.

Training Template for those of you who might be mildly interested. It's a 3-Day Week

TUESDAY - DE Bench/Bench Assistance
1. DE Bench (30-40% of raw max) 6-8x3
1a. Repetition Method for chest on a 3-week wave
2. Shoulder Press Work 5-10 rep range
3. Heavy Rowing - around 5 reps
4. Lighter Rowing - more than 10 reps
5. Triceps - hi volume
6. Biceps - kinda heavy
7. Ab Work

FRIDAY
ME Bench
1. 2, 3, 4, 5 Board Press (rotate)
2. Shirt Work (2 weeks in, 1 week out)
3. 5-6 Board Press (Lockout Work)
4. Shoulders (Raises, DB Cleans, Rear Delts)
5. Pulldown - more than 10 reps
6. Biceps - hi volume

SATURDAY

1. Squat work (every 3rd week in full gear)

Here's the basic plan. I'm gonna give it a ride going into my next meet in May. We'll see how it plays out.

Trying to gain some weight, so I'm going on the EMP (Energy Management Program) If you don't have fat-guy dick, you're not big enough!

Cat - I lost a lot of weight after my debacle in Dec. Almost 25 lbs in 4 weeks. I think the weight loss and lack of training in Dec really hurt my strength in the bench. My weight is coming back up. I think I also neglected to change my bench grips for the past 2 years. My close grip is very weak in comparison. Back to the old drawing board. Just gonna keep hitting it hard and hope things turn around.

Stumper - I haven't done a floor press in a LONG time. If you know how to use leg drive, you should SMASH 315 like it's your bitch. If I remember correctly, the floor press is around 90% of your best bench. I could be wrong.

On to the good stuff. Felt like butt today. I was rudely awakened by Vincent Dizenzo. Not really, but it sounds good. Met the big guy at the gym for a speed bench workout. Here's how it went.

Stumper - watch the Metal Militia videos on underground strength. Without seeing your set-up, I'd say, widen your feet and arch your back MORE! Set-up on the top of your traps, not your back.

Guido - currently, I am 6'4" (subject to change) 290 lbs (subject to change). I'm looking to get to about 320 for my contest in May. My heaviest has been 307 and extremely bloated and miserable. Currently my belly at my bellybutton is 50", my hips are also 50". My feet are a size 14, my hat size is 7 1/4, my neck is 20", and my cock is not big at all. I don't have the other measurements like biceps and chest. My heaviest has been 307 and extremely bloated and miserable. I've lifted in the IPA and APF. I'm a Virgo and I enjoy long walks on the beach and a nice Bree cheese. I think that is all the pertinent facts about me.

Only if you have lockout problems. I would stick with close-grips, ultra-wides,1-2 boards, heavy military presses , and inclines as a raw bencher. And TONS of rear delt work.

vd - oil-based supplements have been around for decades. Some call them the "s" word. Other call it, the ****" or "the juice", etc... I call it "Beef Water". Life is good.

Here's today's work:

15 minutes on treadmill
stretching

Got to work and the guys were watching the NFL combine on the NFL Network. 7 of the trainers and staff already did the 225 bench test. I said, "No. Gotta bench tomorrow. I'll do it next week." Well, I won $100 w/ 27 reps. I DO NOT ever recommend doing this, but my pecs and shoulders DO feel good and loose. I'll see how my bench work goes tomorrow. I might try doing light band work on Thursdays for hi reps if I feel good tomorrow. Dumb, but cash in the pocket is always good. If they want a 40 yd dash test next week, I'll pull a hammy in warm-ups. (on purpose)

Feeling really beat up this week. I'll take the week off and bench again on Friday. My knee is a little swollen and my hips/groin are still very tight. Other than that, life is good.

I feel like a bag of broken dicks today. My neck is even sore from the squatting and Dling. But, I am very happy with the 825. In 4 weeks I'll put the straps up and go for 900-925, and then just maintain and rest for the meet. In my mind right now, 900 will be my second attempt. After that, who knows. Things may change in a few weeks. Gonna eat some Outback and Friendly's ice cream tonight.

Thanks. My best in comp is 880. I was called high with 904 twice in December. I saw video and it was a close call. I believe it could've gone either way, but, I was officially red-lighted.

I haven't been feeling well the last few weeks. I got some kind of chest cold. Still weezing like a 20yr smoker. My bodyweight is still good, so that's the bonus. I haven't trained much, so this week, I need to get back on my horse.

Here's what I did Friday

565 for 2 sets of doubles. Some weird force, I think caused by the gravitational pull of my fat ass, caused my wrists to do some weird flexing and bending. I shut it down after that. My bench progress is non-existant. I might place better if I take all my attempts raw! I won't lift raw because it's too hard, but I'm getting very frustrated.

I was in NJ on Saturday at an EliteFTS seminar. If you get a chance to go to one, you really should. Lots of great info. Afterwards, Dave Tate, Jim Wendler, Zach Even Esh, Joe DeFranco, and myself went out to Chili's. That's where you really learn about training. Good times.

This was a pretty good workout. I've been neglecting my heavy Military Presses and I think it's affecting my bench, not in a good way. Back to what worked for me. Hoping my new shirt comes in Friday. Looking forward to being tortured by Cenzo.

My first comp was in December of 2001. I squatted 500, benched 350, and DLed 510. I weighed in at 251. I joke about hating to squat, but I wouldn't do anything else. When I stop competing, I will completely fall apart. As far as the eating goes, I've seen you guys' pictures in your training journals. Both of you look great without clothes on, I would venture to guess. I however, look better with my clothes on. There are women out there that find me attractive. I call them "chubby chasers". But seriously, I really don't eat all the crap all the time. I'm not a big eater, so it's a chore to keep myself above 300lbs. As I get closer to the meet, I always need to add a little bit of junk food to keep my weight up. I know there are healthier ways, but I'm all about efficiency. With all this talk of junk food, here's what's on my plate for work today. 2 Kudos Peanut Butter bars, Twix, cheese and crackers, a protein shake, and 2 32oz Powerades. I'm off to take my anger out on my clients.

rhode - thats great chubby chasers!!!! im sure you have a pretty good base under that chubb to be lifting what you do - and thank for the compliments but we arent dieting cuz we thought we were fat we both liked our bodys but were both competing on a bodybuliding show in july- thats the reason for the dieting - i dont enjoy cardio by any means

Get this though, he's brining his girl to the contest this Friday and is going to share a room with her! So who is going to wash my back in the shower? This definitely changes things. Well, the meet sucked! I'm not going to make any excuses. Some things need to change with me and with the people that help out. I will take care of both things. But, the most important thing is getting myself right, and I will.

I do my overhead work on Tuesdays. I suck at OHP, but, I'm pretty good at some of the other events, so I'll be alright. But, I have seen my OHP go up with consistent training. I'll focus on it a little more than usual.

So, I saw my Dr. last week. For the first time in my life, my physical didn't come back the way I wanted it to. My good cholesterol is low, by 10 points, and my bad is high, by 30 points. Overall, it's 222. My Triglycerides were low as well, by 30+ points. He prescribed me Lipitor, and recommended doing some cardio, so, I won't be taking the Lipitor until I see him again for another blood test, but, I will be doing some cardio. I walked around Old Greenwich for about 20 minutes today. I noticed 2 things. There are some rich MFer's where I live and, walking is very boring. Although, the highlight of my walk was when I saw a totla MILF pushing a stroller. She even said Hi to me. Tractor beam - sucked me right in.

BWT was 291 this morning, so I'm totally ripped. I think I was even able to see my penis this morning. Not sure if it was a stray hair or the tip. I'm hoping. Next walk will be shirtless for the neighborhood to marvel.

Rhodes, when you pull by feel do you mean more supplemental pulling after your squatting or in place of your squatting as the ME exercise?

I'm basically wondering if you pull "heavy" at all during your cycles. There seems to be a couple of schools of thought with the 700+ deadlifters on it.

I always squat first. I usually do Pin Pulls or GM's as my second. If I feel good and strong, I pull from the floor. No real logical reasoning to it, other than, I'm lazy and I hate DLing. My DLing muscles are strong from squatting, so I think that's why I can get away with not pulling that much. However, I think I should pull more often.

I've never done anything like that before and I need to figure out how to do a clean b/c I have no idea. I'm not really sure if I should or not, b/c I really have no experience with the different implements they use and such.

You should absolutely compete. Don't worry about not knowing the implements and all that stuff. This is only my second strongman and Vincent's 1st. We're doing it to have some fun. I think you should do the same. No matter how you finish, I think you'll really enjoy the day and the people you meet. After that, you can decide if it's for you or not. I already know it's not for me, but I want to do something different. Same for Big V.

Let me know what you decide. It'll be cool to meet you. All I know about Buffalo is that Dallas whooped their ass in 2 Super Bowls, it's cold as hell in the winter, and some sort of chicken-type finger food came out of there.

I probably will go, because it is only about an hour drive from my house, and enough of the events look similar enough to gym lifts, besides that the weights for the most part in my class aren't that heavy at all.

Incline log press is similar enough to incline bench right? I can't imagine it'd be too much different. And 18" deadlift I'm sure is like a rack pull. Farmer's walk I could just try out what it's like with dbs. I'm sure it's not too hard with chalk and there's unlimited drops anyways. The loading stones and stuff shouldn't be too hard to figure out, since it's just pretty much finding a way to pick it up and put it on the platform. I've done enough of that kind of stuff with work.

I'm going to try to learn how to do a clean this week then, and my push press is at least semi-decent. You'll just have to show me how it is they throw a tire before it starts, since I have no idea what the technique is (guessing it's like a spin or something like discus in the olympics).

Tuesday and Wednesday Conditioning

It's hotter than a fart in a space suit in CT. Very humid and just plain nasty. I had condensation on my bedroom windows this morning. That's how nasty it is out! I'm done complaining.

Tuesday night I tried this new thing called jogging, or yogging. It might be a soft "J" Apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild. I walked/jogged for about 45 minutes.

Wednesday I did 1 mile on the Crosstrainer (about 10 minutes) and then did some stretching. A hot Columbian girl talked to me. :omg: :drooling:

Quick question: how do I keep my upper back on the bench during DE work? My back is on the bench all the way until the very end of the movement, where the bar's momentum flying up is pulling my body along with it (since I'm gripping the bar).

That's hard to say without seeing you bench. My guess is you're not driving your feet into the ground and you're not very tight. If you stay so tight that it's actually uncomfortable, you won't come off the bench. You might not be using enough weight as well. Are you a raw or equipped lifter? If raw, you should be in the 55-70% range with your speed work.

I feel pretty good. My bodyweight is slowly coming up. I feel like I'm getting bigger, so that's good. Not too many nagging injuries bothering me. Groin, knees, shoulders, and elbows feel pretty good. I'm happy about that. Gonna take a little time and see how many weeks out from the meet I am. Just curious. I need to come up with a bench plan. I've been having a very frustrating time with my shirts. I'm back to using a fairly loose denim. Time to be humble and get really strong in the bench. I'll keep my thoughts and progress posted. FOOD is GOOD!

I stepped on the scale todat at 299! Very happy about that. I've been stuffing my face for about 4 weeks and really didn't gain much weight at all. It finally started to come. Hopefully I can ride this one for about 10-20 more lbs. I'm a fat kid, and that's ok.

LOL! Wasn't that hard bro. I graduated high school @ 285. I think it's literally impossible to get under 300 now. But I'll maintain 300+ just for you!

IZich - my top 5 are probably
1. McDonald's
2. Pizza
3. Adding Heavy Cream to my shakes 2x per day
4. Tacos
5. my girlfriend

Douglas - yes of my raw max. Every 2-3 weeks I try to work up relatively heavy. If you stay below 80%, you really don't work the CNS too hard, it seems. It's all based on how I feel that day.

Mr. Callahan (TommyBoy) - I love when I can get large land mammals, like yourself, to do things for me. Remember Bro, there are 2 kinds of people in this world.

Adding cream to your shakes- that sounds like a great idea! I'm trying to eat every meal twice, breakfastx2, lunchx2 etc . . .
