Protein intake depends on what you weight. You should get anywhere from 1g:1lb to 2g:1lb.

There is no evidence that one needs anymore than about 1g/lb of bodyweight. One could actually get by on less than this. 1g/kg of bodyweight is probably sufficient, but if you want to play it safe I would go with the first figure.

I'd gage it on weight. But, for most; 300 grams isn't neccessary.

I try for 1g p/lb. and usually get around 250 g just from the foods I eat.

I eat about 4,000 cal. p/day, only use protein for after workouts.

:D

Naw . . . I use at breakfast also, precisely in a drink I consume on the way into work. I mix a single scoop in 2 cups fruit juice and chill.

Other than that I only use protein for immediately after workouts.

I get my protein from turkey, red meat, tuna and dairy.

(I'm speaking of Whey protein supplement, not protein in general)

You would only need 2 times your bodywieght if you weren't eating carbs and your fat levels were also kept relatively low.

i dont see anything wrong with taking tons of protien powders versus food, they all help maintain and build mass. powders are easier to down and alot less filling and its cheaper for me only about 35 cents or so for 20 grams of protien

The human body wasn't designed to metabolise protein powders.

The human body wasn't designed to digest amino acids? Whey? Casein? Milk?
