It's been an eventful year for me, including the loss of my father, girlfriends grandmother and the murder of one of my girlfriend's friends, so my progress has not been as good as I wanted. In spite of all this and being forced to do cardio 5 days a week for hockey I still think I've still made decent gains. I'm about 200 lbs. in both sets of pictures but much leaner in the more recent, and am hoping to get under 10% in summer. I'm slowly bulking right now then will start cutting around March. BTW, in the first picture I lost a bet and had to wear that shirt to a dance, it's kind of an inside joke. About the hair, I don't know what I was thinking, I was just too lazy to cut it back then. I threw in a side chest just for fun too.

Edit: Legs pic added.

Don't mean to sound like an echo but you look really great- very solid, upper body seems well proportioned, you're lean and a tank... and at 17 you're awesome. Again, echo: wheels?

Let's hope 2007 will be a better year for you in terms of personal life and at lest as good in the gym.

Btw, the second pic is really nice just as a pic.

Thanks everyone. Stump, the arms are right around 16, legs are probably 26-27ish. I haven't squatted in awhile due to having hockey like 5 days a week and a lower back injury (not lifting related). Last time I did I think I did 275 x 8 x 3 and it wasn't too bad.

Great progress.

What bf% did you start at, and what did you do in terms of diet/training?

When I first started I was fairly lean, about 10-12% at 150 lbs. I then bulked up to 210ish 20%, cut down to 180-185 10-12%, bulked up to 225 ~20%ish, and am now down to around 195-200 in the recent pics. I bulked fairly dirty so I gained quite a bit of fat, but oh well, cutting is pretty easy for me.

I play AA rep. I started late, so I'm nothing special talent wise. The coaches mostly like me for my size, go figure. :p

Meh, my bench is stubborn, with hockey and cutting and everything it's probably down to 255 - 265 now. With the amount of time and effort I've put into it I wouldn't mind pushing 315 by now. I guess you gotta work with what you got though.

About two and a half years with a few setbacks due to reasons mentioned. Total time lifting consistently about two years, although I didn't really know what I was doing when I started.

Anyway, lookin good and dont worry about the bench, i bet once you get to your offseason you'll bring it back up pretty significantly.

Tell your brother that weight lifting helped mine and all of my friend's game significantly. It just makes battling for the puck so much easier.

I thought that same thing even before I read the post. Maybe BCC'll chime in with his 2-cents.

I think you look fantastic considering your age and years experience. No arguing with genetics. Is competing one of your goals?

Follow-up: I just took a look at your photos from the past couple years, and your transformation's nothing short of astounding. F**k!

BTW, I hate cutting too, so I can sympathize...lol.

My condolences on your dad too. I lost mine three years ago, and I miss him a lot.

Yup, I'm about 5'10. Weight is about 195, give or take, depending on what I eat, when I weigh myself, etc.

How often to do you work out and how much time do you spend? Like are you working out 4 or 5 days a week @ 2 hours at a time or less time?

All I have is 3 days a week but I think I need to add in another day or I won't see much, if any, gains.

All I want to be is around 170. Maybe 180 max. 215 on my frame would be too much. And considering I am 150 now, 215 is lofty (and unobtainable) goal. I set it at 170 to make it realistic.

Impressive for your age. Didn't know about your losses but either way, I am sorry to hear....I lost my mom at 59 a year ago last November. She was my only parent.

No no, they're not, trust me on that one. They've gotten smaller because I haven't been squatting much during hockey season either. If I had to guess I'd say they probably only measure 25-26" right now.

That's what I thought when I was 150 lbs. too. I have a very small frame, but once you hit 180 you'll think "man, I'm still small."

I have hockey lots so I'm only getting to the gym 2-3 times a week right now, but in the off season usually 4-5 depending on the split I'm using.
