Woke up early and got this in before work. Man I hope the FDA never bans ephedrine. First time I ever did reverse grip bench, felt really strange. I have no idea what the purpose is either but I think I'll do them again. It certainly breaks up the monotony. When I record half a rep it means a negative, hopefully a long one.

PS well if you're trying to get good at the powerlifts then at least add in a squat workout too. Korte's 3 x 3 program is a good choice.. though my opinion be merely my own, I think you are doing a grave disservice by not incorporating the curls

Side effects were minimal and tolerable (sluggishness and irritability). What amazes me most is that although my diet remained absolutely horrible, I actually lost bodyfat.

Tomorrow I'm gonna start taking the remainder of the Tribex-500 I have left over from last year. It should last about a week and will most likely do nothing.

Great job you old bastard! You truly are an inspiration and the change in your physique has been great. In another year post your before & after pics at Elite when you're benching 350-375 and your bodyfat is 12% and make em' eat crow. Tighten up your diet and add some squats and you'll be all set.

I had fully intended to do zercher squats until I got about halfway through my first set. I have no muscle in my lower back. I am weak. Someday I will be a strong mofo.

Not yet, I just got it in the mail yesterday. I wanna use it right now but since I just finished that 1-AD, I think I should probably wait about a month or so. I also want to get my diet together. I'm eating entirely too much junk right now and not enough protein.

I see no advantage to record warmup sets anymore. As soon as I got to work this morning they were shoving donuts in my face but I remained strong and ate a nasty-ass powerbar instead.

I've been off the 1-AD for almost a week now and haven't lost any strength *knocks on wood*. My bodyweight is down a couple pounds though. I think this is primarily due to major diet changes this week.

I'm getting a lot more "you're getting fat" comments at work lately (it doesn't help matters that I wear baggy clothes). Too bad they don't know that my bodyfat % has actually gone down or that I even bother to lift weights. Whatever.

Don't worry about the "you're getting fat" comments. I've gained about 20 lbs since October and I've wearing kind of baggy clothes and people at my work has been saying the same thing, but today when I went to work to pick my pay check up in my tank top since it felt good today, the same people that told me I was getting fat, was like "damn, you're getting huge."

My suggestion: go in to work dressed as Conan(Just a little loin cloth and a huge-a** sword.) Just to let 'em know what's up.

For each workout I will perform 5 warmup sets and 1 S.H.I.T. set ...

Monday - Deadlift

Tuesday - Bench

Wednesday - Curl

Thursday - Bench

Friday - Curl

Using an example from the movie This Is Spinal Tap where Nigel has that amp that goes up to 11, you can see why S.H.I.T. is obviously superior to HIT.

S.H.I.T. uses the amp that goes all the way up to 11 and HIT uses the amp that only goes up to 10.

Although I totally disagree with your training methods, can I suggest doing the deads on Wednesday so that you aren't doing benches with only 1 day rest and also curls?

Must curl, not row. I'm training for PowerSports masters, in which I will compete 8 years from now when I turn 40.

It just occurred to me that about 4 months ago I maxed out on bench with 245 and today I did 240 x 8. When I started last August I couldn't even bench 200 (yikes). My mind just went blank. I don't know what else to say. I stopped taking my Paxil last Thursday. My energy levels are sky-high now but I'm feeling rather psychotic though.

Good job on the bench. Starting to put up some nice weight. Continue on this progression and you'll be hitting 400 at no time.

Uhhh...any reason you've done this? Sounds like a VERY bad idea. A great many people on meds who decide they'll be fine without them, run into very serious problems. I would get back on them ASAP, unless your physician has instructed you to do otherwise.

You doubled your bench, which is quite an accomplishment. Maybe you're much stronger on another lift. A couple of our members here are kinda weak on bench but can pull well over 400. Now that's awesome cuz when I'm only pulling a 320 max, it feels like I'm lifting the world.

As for the Paxil, my wife is watching me like a hawk, so if I start turning into the "werewolf" I once was, I'll just go back on it and say goodbye to my penis again. :evillaugh

Prozax, Zoloft, Effexor (which has a mild tranquilizer, used for anxiety. its a new drug) there are really a whole ton out now. I dunno the ins & out of all the SSRI's but a common side effect is tiredness. I was on a mild dosage of prozac for a little while but I just found that it made me more tired than usual and didn't do anything for me personally. I also went on effexor which turned me into a walking zombie unfortunately. I was extemely tired and uncommunicative. Fortunately my depression really isn't that bad but if you find that you don't like the side effects of Paxil then maybe you should ask you Dr. to change meds or do a trial run off of them completely BUT it is very important to ween slowly off of these meds, you shouldn't just stop cold turkey, they aren't cigarettes! ^_^ Take care Mr. Barker!

Once again, I've failed to follow my own workout plan. Today was supposed to be curls but I felt like doing rows (thanks to LATMAN for making me feel guilty). My diet is getting better every day. I've replaced the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and donuts with Balance Bars or Powerbars. Chicken sandwiches instead of fried burritos. More water instead of french fries. It's not even that hard to do and I know that a better diet will only make me stronger. My bodyweight is down to 215. Bodyfat % is hangin around 21 to 22. Although this is no longer a priority of mine, I wouldn't complain if my bodyfat was about 15%.
