hey Ive been doing a different routine, just wanted to get some opinions on it

light stretch
sprint up 5 flights of steps, walk down
6 times

takes about 15 minutes or so. should i be going longer?

15 min seems a little short, but I'm still new to HIIT. I would think 20-30 min is better so do it a few more times.

15 mins is fine as long as your intensity is ~95% MHR.

after the 15 minutes what are you doing?a session of steady state cardio would be beneficial immediately afterwards.

It depends on intensity. You could have a 4 minute session that runs you into the ground if the intensity was high enough. Or you can maintain an intermediate pace and go 20+ minutes.

"Performance is directly correlated with intensity. Intensity is directly correlated with discomfort."

Remember that next time you sprint ... ;)

I always feel that if I can do HIIT for 10 minutes then my intensity level wasn't high enough.

On a good day I'll be laying the yard waking up as a dog licks my face because I managed to wreck my self in eight minutes or so.
