So for a while i was in a diet rutt. I was under 1000 calories per day. I decided to bulk when I weighed 172.5. I did all the calculations and what not from BMR and what i need to gain and it was around 3000+ per day. I didnt want to make a 2000 calorie jump however. So the last couple days ive been around 2200. I eat about every two hours. I figure this has sped up my metabolism, but the thing is, i am down to 170.5lb. could this be because i sped up my metabolism and am still under my maitness calories? Would it be alright to just make the jump straight to maitnence or should i go up 500 per week to avoid unwanted fat gain?

if i were you id eat twice as much as you are now - when bulking you cant be bothered about fat gains, thats just how it works, you cut afterwards to get rid of the body fat you gained

So its not unhealthy to just suddenly increase the calories like that?

if your eating unhealthy food then yes, other wise no - at the end of the day who cares? either you eat more an gain size, or you eat less an dont

i would slowly ramp up like adding 250 a week, otherwise you will rapidly put on fat, and the more fat you put on the harder the cut becomes.

i'm still under maitnence, if i suddenly jump to that, would it be possible to gain fat, wouldnt i just stop losing weight?
