I'm 6ft tall. I'm 198lbs currently and 23%bf. I want to cut to about 16% bf. I was wondering how many calories a day i should be consuming and if there is a very simple thing I can eat to achieve this goal. I go to the gym every other day and in fact I just finished bulking from 180 to 198lbs. in about 4 months. not bad? I dont know. How long would it take to get there? :ninja:

You have about 152 lbs of lean mass, right? So at 16%, presuming a mythical "no loss of LBM" cut, you'll hit 16% at 182 lbs.

Plan to lose about a pound a week. Figure out how many calories you eat to maintain 198, and drop that by 500 calories.

Im kind of new to all this... do you mean mythical as in it cannot be done, or by mythical do you just mean ideal?

mythical as in ideal. its very tough to retain all LBM when the goal is fat loss.
you can try by not creating too huge a deficit and lifting heavy weights (3-5 rep range)

too huge of a calorie deficit from what you were consuming before the cut?

okay. thanks! 2376 is around the calories i eat a day. I'm thinking i need to eat
2000 calories a day?

The best advice to a cutter that I rarely hear given is, learn to love your workouts, and work out hard. You can starve yourself, or you can kick up your intensity a notch, and eat a little more because of it.

well, i will be playing badminton in a few weeks. and it's a lot of sweating. this is for high schoo btw.
